We were very fortunate to be able to adopt these 3 beautiful sisters. The Blue Cross Rehoming Centre staff were absolutely amazing. They all went above and beyond to help us adopt the kittens. We wanted to say a massive thank you, and let you know the girls have settled in beautifully. Thank you all for your help and support. We would definitely recommend adopting from here ❤️ Had a conversation with Blue Cross about adopting a cat, they were responsive and informative and even suggested another cat which may be more suitable for my circumstances. When I asked about meeting this cat to see if we would be a good fit I was told I would meet him on adoption day if I decided to proceed as he was with a fosterer. I was gobsmacked they would rehome a cat without an initial meeting for both the cats sake and mine, especially as I have decided to proceed with a cat from another organisation and was offered multiple visits to see the cat at home with the fosterer. I understand cats may change from how they are on first meeting but cannot understand not allowing meeting before deciding to adopt unless there is something you are trying to conceal about the animal which if so would be very poor practice. Really disappointed as my initial experience was positive. Cannot fault the team at Thirsk! They are all about the animals in their care, as much as they'd love every single one to go home with someone first time they put the animals needs first. If they need multiple visits with you then they will stick to that, if the animal is unsure a dog shows they are uncomfortable they listen to the behaviour and signals and respond accordingly. Everything with our adoption went so smoothly and when we came to collect our boy they made sure all paperwork was present and correctly filled out for both us and him. We're super lucky to have found our boy, and 10 out of 10 would adopt with them again! We adopted Mickey from Blue Cross Thirsk recently. The process was quick and painless, and all the people we interacted with either over email or at the centre were lovely and couldn't have been more helpful. I feel as if there is support available if I need it but you can see that Mickey has already settled in very comfortably. We're so happy to be his new mummy and daddy 😊 We have recently adopted a gorgeous little pooch from Blue Cross Thirsk. Every team member that we dealt with were fab throughout the process, in particular, Hollie. We were able to spend a few hours with Frankie over a couple weeks before we adopted. We were provided with all the information we needed. Frankie has settled in so well so far, and we are so grateful to you for giving us the perfect addition to our family.
