A favourite with the locals for being a well kept secret escape, shingle street is both picturesque and peaceful; great for a day trip to the or a nice walk with the dogs. There are a number of WW2 defensive forts and buildings along the beach, a few of which are ruined and you can go in. The only negative is there are no toilet facilities. Did a circular walk here. Pretty quiet, lots of fresh sea air. Easy to park but note no facilities. One of my favourite places in the world. Calm, beautiful, great in the summer for a paddle, nice all year round for walking. Free parking, bins available to dispose of rubbish. Shingle not sand Gorgeous shingle beach, perfect place to let your cares drift away Lovely place to come & reflect. The photo shows a line of over 20,000 whelk shells stretching down to the sea that were initially placed there by two women fighting cancer to show their journey with all it's ups and downs. Other people have added to it over time & there is a apparently a short film that has been made about it. Absolutely amazing place. and sorrounding area is protected as natural reserve. Very peaceful and beautiful place, a bit chilly though. Not the hidden gem it used to be. In the summer its pretty busy and parking is hard. Its still beautiful, but it lacks the peace and quiet that can be found on other secret Suffolk beaches. Perfect off the beaten track beach. It has no facilities that I found, but so long as you want peace and quiet it's perfect. Also dog friendly, I saw several having a fab time swimming whilst there we love Shingle street beach. Hidden jam, very peaceful. Amazing landscape and changes every time we visit. Lagoon in the shingle is fabulous, lovely swimming lagoon. Sometimes, on very low tide, more lagoons are created by the shore. Love love paddling there, moon rises over the sea, sunset behind over Bawsy and Felixstowe, floating in the lagoon watching kite surfers against blue sky is very relaxing. Lovely Beach. Pebbles can be a downside. But thanks to the fact that it is East facing and there is a fairly long Fetch with only a small amount of wind you can get some quite dramatic waves for watching and taking pictures of. I loved the beach.
