I lived in Felixstowe in the 80s and knew the Seafront but had no idea about their history. They are one of 8 sets of Grade II in Felixstowe that gave the town its title of 'the garden resort of East Anglia.' The are watered by natural springs which occur along the cliffs and were designed and built for the pleasure of Victorian seaside visitors, as was the fashion at the time, in pursuit of improved health and relaxation. The today mainly follow the same layout as existed 100 years ago, including a few rare plant species not commonly found in Suffolk. The also hide a WWII air raid shelter. The bunker was designed to protect the town's officials during air raids, though its now sealed off, unmarked, and largely forgotten. Overall, great little spot, really peaceful and only a few minutes from the pier. Definetely worth a stop to contemplate its history, or just to enjoy an ice cream. Love Felixstowe Climb the steps for excercise It's an absolutely gorgeous, wonderful place with an awesome view to the sea, especially when sunny, do not hesitate to visit Yeh nice place These seafront are beautiful and are definately worth a visit. once we got to the town hall we stopped for hot doughnuts at the pier Very pleasant to walk around and a great view too. Also chilling on the bench watching the sea is outstanding😁 Really lovely for a stroll on a sunny day. Our 3 and 5 year olds enjoyed running up and down the paths as it is all on a slope, but a respite from the beach when you've had enough sand and sea. Very nice place to sit down, relax and take some great pictures! I went there with a group of international students and they enjoyed very much. Many hours sitting and watching the view. If your lucky you will see the big container ships coming through on their way to the port Well cared for area. Nice place to sit and watch the world go by. Lovely place to sit and watch the world go by. Newly refurbished, tidy, lit up and very well looked after. Makes the seafront more attractive whether it's light or dark. Felixstowe is a great little seaside place no razzmatazz and very clean and lovely place.
