The fort, the location, the setting is beautiful and straight out of a book. What’s utterly disappointing is the sheer dereliction and neglect. There is a lone vendor who sits outside the gate selling all kinds of chips, namkeen, water bottles and everything that’s wrapped in plastic. And there’s not a single dust bin anywhere. So the visitors treat the as one big dust bin. Wherever you go inside the fort, you’ll be greeted by a healthy dose of litter. There’s a watchman who’s job is to collect entry fees (it’s nominal - Rs 20), but he won’t object if you piss on the wall in front of him. And yes, the walls are in a semi-vandalised condition - you’ll find the names of all visitors scribed everywhere, even on ceilings! The Government of MP really needs to pay attention. But can’t expect anything- given the poor conditions of civic infrastructure, public health and education services in the state capital Bhopal. You need a local guide to reach the place. There is a security guard and charged 40 rupees for motorcycle. Amazing place for hunting and for photography. Narsinghgarh is now in ruins in some parts Due to No Maintenance. It is Good place to visit in rainy and winter season. The entire city can be seen from the top of the fort, a captivating view. It is best place for visiting. entry fees is 20 rupees per person and The is open from 10 am to 6:30 pm. It was a memorable trip.
