The Japanese Garden at Cowden

Visited this in july, such a relaxing place to just sit and chill. Not to busy. There's a small visitor centre where you and watch a video about the history of the garden. Perfectly maintained. Has a cafe and toilets. Also plenty of parking. Absolutely stunning!! The trees were turning and it was beautiful!!! Definitely recommend, also the cake in the cafe is delicious!! Book before you go as it's v popular!! My family and I thoroughly enjoyed our visit to the garden. It was so serene and tranquil and, even though there were many visitors there, it never felt busy or over-subscribed. The place is immaculately maintained and very well cared for. The café was also very pleasant with plenty of outfit seating available, delicious cakes and food and very quick service, despite the busyness of the day. It will be a pleasure to return at different points in the seasons to see the in its varying seasonal glories. I had the great pleasure of joining a small group of Togs from Livingston in a visit to the Japanese Gardens in Clackmannanshire. What a place; absolutely beautiful! Stunning views and such a peacefull ambience. We had a cuppa together on arrival and then, armed with our weapons of choice, went off on our individual paths to shoot this remarkable place. We were fortunate in that there was a thin veil of high cloud - a natural 'softbox' - which afforded great shooting among the tree lined paths and pond. I can't recommend it highly enough. Car park was busy but managed to get a space. At reception I was given and explained the map of the . right at entrance you can have the full view of this nested by surrounding hills and tall trees. Lovely walks around the lake, plenty of points to sit down and enjoy the views. This place is a reminder of harmony and balance in nature , where all the elements come together to create something spectacular. Beautiful, well maintained garden. You do have to buy a ticket to enter the gardens but you can get family tickets which work out a bit cheaper. The staff were friendly and took time to speak to you. There is a small cafe and gift shop. Really autumn colours, would like to go again another time of year and see more. The walk around the lake was good for my 80yr old father with his two walking sticks. Friendly, helpful staff in the shop and tea room. Overall a lovely time. Absolutely stunning highly recommended. Best Japanese I've seen in the West. Peaceful spaces rain or shine. Lovingly restored. Great cafe for coffees and lunch.
