Excellent food. Great wines to choose from and cosy Italian surroundings. And an absolute perfect and very friendly service. We had a great dinner and evening. This restaurant has become one of our regularly visited places to eat. The Italian cuisine is highly authentic and prepared with fantastic ingredients, resulting in great-tasting Italian dishes. The professional staff is very friendly and, something unfortunately not often found in the French-speaking area of Belgium, willing and able to speak not only Italian and, obviously, French, but they also try their best to converse in Dutch and English. As on all of our previous visits, the food was on this occasion again outstanding. For Starters, my wife choose Arancino, my son the Trio di montanarine and I the Crocchette di scarmoza e patate. For our Main corse my wife chose a dish of the “Specials Menu”, a perfectly cooked Swordfish-steak with Pasta, whilst my teenage son decided to opt for a signature contemporary Neapolitan pizza, also known as pizza canotto. I couldn’t resist asking, yet again, for the Spaghetti á la carbonara di guanciale. This is none of that tourist-style wannabe carbonara stuff with a cream sauce with added bacon cubes, but the authentic version with small slivers of fried pig's cheek you will find in Italy. All this was accompanied by absolutely delicious La Matta House wines. It goes without saying, that all dishes fully met and in my wife's case, even exceeded our expectations. The same is true for the ever helpful, but never intruding staff. All in all the evening out with the family was, as we are becoming used to at La Matta, a completely enjoyable evening out, with excellent food and fine wine. What more can you ask for? We surely will be back soon. Nice place but both my wife's salmon (under cooked) and my calzón (too little tomato sauce and ham) were disappointing. Pretty tasty pizza 👌 I ordered the gnocchi and they were super tasty! Very very good food! We ordered 3 pizza 1 was ok other 2 very bad ..the macaroni was not nice at all. We been mot happy 🤯💔 We are going there with the family on a regular basis and we love it. It’s an excellent and authentic Italian menu and food.
