Malham Cove is a fantastic starting point for exploring the area, especially if you’re a fan of Harry Potter—this is where Harry and Hermione went camping! The trails take you through stunning scenery and lead to other beautiful spots nearby, including Janet’s Foss and Gordale Scar. The paths are well-marked, and the views along the way are truly spectacular, making it a great outing for hikers, families, and nature lovers alike. Such a beautiful walk, not too difficult as mainly flat walking up to the cove, you have an option as to whether you do the 400 steps, I didn't but belive the views are spectacular Parked here for a great walk. Parking was ample even though it was a busy summer holidays daytime. Well situated for a nice circular walk, or even a there and back to Janets foss. Walking was easy, fairly well pathed and not that hilly. Absolutely stunning views & walk. Added bonus there is a mobile food and drink van super close . So can grab a nice coffee or water. Also do food. The isn't to challenging which is good. But definitely wear suitable footwear . Definitely recommend a visit 👌 Absolutely stunning 😍 I only visited Janet's Foss but it was so beautiful 😍 There were some shops in the village especially the Tea Room, serving a wide range of food and drinks at reasonable prices 😀 This is a place I have wanted to visit again since 1970. I finally got there again today. Park at the visitor centre there's plenty of space and the ticket money helps to fund the National Park. It's an easy although the steps up to the Limestone Pavement is on the steep side. Steeper than 11 year old me remembers anyway. The view is rewarding and the air! Like wine. Go and see for yourselves. Had quick look around visitor centre. Very informative. Good car park and toilets to start hike up to Malham Cove. Malham is a beautiful village, so picturesque. Even on the busiest days you can find a parking place. Both Malham Cove and Janet's Foss are worth the hike, both relatively easy. There are a few pubs serving food, and a couple of tea rooms and ice cream parlours. The small flowing river that runs through Malham has some shallow areas where children or even dogs can paddle. There are two public Convenience's (toilets) and a dog watering station. There is a tourist information and visitor centre too. We definitely recommend visiting Malham.
