I believe that taking this teleférico is one of the best experiences I had on the Madeira trip. I was afraid at first, and I decided to go. The view of the mountain, cliff, beach, waves are all wow, amazing, and stunning. I do not remember how much I paid, but it is worth the ride. We have time to spend some minutes once we arrive down part of the hill. There is a village where you can visit to check. Then, the teleférico will take us up the hill again. Amazing amazing just amazing! The visit was in February 2023. It is still in my memory. The best experience on the island. The ride is amazing, staff is friendly the price is very reasonable and the walk down there was just stunning Windy and crowded!!!! Overall experience is fine. 5 eu/persona. Parking nearby. Perfect way to spend a couple of hours taking in the ocean views. I recommend that you time your visit right as the car attendant takes a lunch break in which case you may need to stay longer by the beach (which is what we did). The price is affordable, you can park for free on the street and use the restrooms available by the car entrance. A little overhyped. The cabins got stuck several times with the people inside with no reason. That looked dangerous and unreliable. The queues are huge which makes it overwhelming to wait for your turn to finally get into the cabin. Parking is limited so people leave their cars on the serpentine which makes the way to the station extreme. There’s a cafe - the staff is rude and the food is disgusting. Beautiful spot but i would not recommend the hike down the mountain. Juste take the teleferico there and back. Very nice views and it felt very safe. Probably not as much fun when there is a lot of wind. It's a nice and very steep car, great for spending 2-3 hours. It goes down 98 degree and only takes a few minutes but the view is great! When down there is a lovely path by the sea to walk, old farming houses to explore and a lot of huge waves to watch. We paid 5€ per person for both ways which is a good deal. Family friendly activity. There is a free bathroom and a shop/ restaurant before going down. The parking situation is a bit difficult, we were there twice and both times we had to park on a steep hill. Make sure you plan enough time as the last ride down is already at 16pm (up at 18pm)! Also buy your ticket at the desk before standing in line. We had to wait quite long to come back up, there are only two cars in total so there is one around every 4 minutes that can fit 6 people. Overall it was a very nice activity- which seems to get more popular. Beautiful place. Really nice views. But in the end not worth it. We waited longer for the car to go down and later up again than we actually enjoyed the activity. Also the line of people before us didn't look that much but there are only 6 people going down every 5 minutes. So it definitely takes a lot of time. And there is not a lot of shade where you could wait. Especially down at the beach is no shade at all to wait for the car. Would not recommend it or do it again.
