We came over to see our friends and their band playing at The Hart. Lovely venue, friendly staff and a great evening watching Johnny the Fox (Thin Lizzy aficionados) A lovely pub on the outskirts of Northampton on the A428 road. Ample car parking and a few disabled spaces immediately outside front. We arrived at approximately 12.15 pm and were both quickly seated. We placed our orders, my wife had the steak sandwich and I had the mixed grill which, due to a of 18 turning up, we had a fair wait which was explained to us both. Our food was very good and decent value and finished completely. My 3 meats were lovely, gammon not too salty, chicken tender and my steak was cooked to order. Decent too and turned up hot and wasn't greasy either. Both ladies serving were excellent, Becca and Laura I believe, running around keeping everyone fed and serving drinks too. A pleasant atmosphere and I loved the 60s music they were playing in the background too. Visited 23rd January 2025 Been waiting to visit here for some years now. Plenty of tables around to choose where we wanted to sit. No app service so had to go to the bar to order and also ask for a food menu. All the staff were very polite and friendly. Good time waiting for drinks and food. The man behind the bar made my cocktails very nice. The only disappointment we had was the food. The burger was nice but the were quite hard and greasy compared to other pubs. The desserts were ok but the ice cream was very poor as you could taste the hard ice inside each bite and it wasn't very soft or 'melty'. For the price I have been to other pubs that are slightly better quality. Would maybe return but think just for a few drinks. Ages since visited but wasn't disappointed....just popped in for coffee and cake along with the pooch. (Carrot cake was great) The staff were lovely and we could sit in bar with Teddy. Lots of nice eating spots throughout and the was varied pub grub at reasonable prices. Outdoor seating with play area was excellent. Will definitely return for a meal 😋 See below. Ps ..there is electric car charging in car park. Lovely meal out. Good value and tasty. Didn’t feel that the had a huge variety but it was adequate. Staff were lovely. Poor effort. So many staff on but no tables cleared, especially outside food and rubbish all over the floor. All the tables were sticky also. Ordered food, waited a long time for it to arrive. No turkey on one roast, No roast potatoes on roast dinners 'we've sold out you should have been told' veg non existent and what was there was hard.. mash like thick glue. Overcooked steak, cold and no peas- we werent told this either.. Onion rings missing. Gravy so thick and lumpy you could have built a house with it. The manager gave us a refund, but we won't be eating there again. and whilst we were stood at the bar all of the waitresses and the kitchen staff were quite clearly talking about us and gawping out of the kitchen window..... rude. Visited for food this evening with family and had another fantastic meal!!!!! All 4 dishes were warm and very tasty. Service was brilliant, Hattie looked after us and made us feel extremely welcome, can't wait to return!!!! We had only beer and chips. Service was kind and fast. I noticed couple having lunch with their puppies means they are dog friendly. Nice atmosphere, we had a good time after long walk in the nearest forest area. I frequently visit The Hart for evening meals, evening drinks, lunchtime meals and also the occasional coffee catch-up with friends. I've considered The Hart my local for the past year and am very happy with the service, atmosphere, price and quality. So pleased to have such a local friendly pub so close to me Massive disappointment on my Mother's Day treat with my family. We had not pre booked meal but booked the in advance. Landlady informed us all the Sunday Roasts were not available to us due to high number of orders and that we could order from the main menu. Had to wait for hour and a half for food. When it finally arrived beans on plate instead of peas. Two portions of arrived five minutes after the mains and not correct ( French fries not ordered but received one of those and one steak cut) The of 14 next to us had preordered and still not recieved their meals two hours later. They finally walked out hungry. I spoke to the manager explaining it was also my birthday and the whole experience was ruined. She quite condesendingly stated we didn't have to feed you due to not reordering despite the landlady offered the option and that the customer is not always right. There was one chef and one prepper in the kitchen (who must have been exhausted) to cook and prepare for a packed pub on one of the busiest days of the year. There wasn't a chance they could fulfill diners expectations yet took payment before meal was served. The landlady had gone home so customers were left with a rude manager who had absolutely no compression regards their shoddy service. I must add the waitresses and waiters were very polite albeit run off their feet. A return visit is definitely off the menu. Came in on mothers day on pre booked with preordered food for 4.30. Had to wait over an hour and a half and still no food, was constantly told ten more minutes. Another also had an excruciatingly long wait for food but ended up receiving theirs. We left without having been fed. Manager is extremely rude to the point we witnessed her having a shouting match with a customer trying to get the customer to back down when then customer was clearly correct in complaining. Horrendous service, clearly over booked for personal gain without giving a thought to the customers ruined days. Judging by some of their the responses here on bad reviews you can only imagine the attitude they have towards unhappy customers due to unbelievably bad service in person.
