Recommended to while traveling around Murcia! In the bottom there is a very nice and cozy park with shadows, benches, water and fireplaces for bbq to spend a whole day! A very unique place to visit Church and its settings are peaceful and stunning - the walk along the is beautiful - toilet facilities plus if you need it. Entrance is but donations welcomed You can also light a candle for a loved one Definitely a place to Nice place....Been here often before. The giftshop has a price and big showroom. The chapel warm and nice. The restaurante is very good, on two flúors, food, service. Nice waiters. Lovely day out to see the old Catholic church. This is the second time I've been and it's just as as the first. This time it was a lot busier as it was the weekend and we arrived when mass was about to start. Still wasn't too busy but the was as last time was mid week and the had lots of empty seats then. Mass is from 1pm on Saturday and Sunday and also public holidays. Nice to see the different areas and the architecture. You can also light a candle at 4 for 1€. Afterwards you can walk along the with plenty of seating and public toilets. There are BBQ areas and food wash areas if you wanted to make it a full.day out which some of the Spanish do. There are also campervan spots further along. Would recommend this day out also a nice drive as well with a nice view point just down the road. The las Lomas that is back a little further is a refreshment stop as well. Must if in Calasparra. Very lovely setting close to the famous rice fields. Plenty of parking and a plus no entrance fee. Great tranquil place made from stones. Church set in the rocks and lit candels have a great atmosphere. You can get behind the main altar and leave there an item representing something you desire to protect. Few popes visited the place in the past. In the large area there is also a (closed on Mondays) facing the river, child's playground and you can take a medium-distance walks from there. The entrance is and when we're there in October 2024 it was literally deserted. Free car park in front of the entrance. The area and the church itself is suitable for disabled access. It's definitelly worth the - even if you're not a Cristian. Lots of parking and toilets. Beautiful and unique sanctuary. Large gift shop with quality mementos. Nice with pretty views. Excellent natural environment. The rivers walk is very well planned, with open views on the return. Sanctuary of the Virgin of Hope I was here this afternoon around 1pm. It was deserted. No idea why there was no one there 🤷🏻‍♀️. There were 3 cars in the parking lot. Probably the staff and the leaf blower. It was an honor to be able to walk around alone and take pictures without all kinds of tourists in the picture🙏. The Sanctuary of the Virgin of Hope is located in a cave carved into the rock and dates back to the 17th century. Inside the sanctuary are two statues of the Virgin of Hope, known as La Pequeñica and La Grande. The story goes that the small statue was found by a shepherd who was tending his cattle in a cave that had been eroded by the waters of the Segura River. The residents of the city tried to move the statue to the municipality of Calasparra, but because of the weight they left her in the cave. In the museum there was a small room with a white wall where all the white plastic dolls or parts of a doll were hanging. There were also notes. I think from visitors asking for healing. Is anyone familiar with this? There were also clumps of hair hanging in between 🤷🏻‍♀️ Santuario Virgen de la Esperanza I loved everything about this place, its so tranquil. Inside the sanctuary is a sight to behold, it really is a fascinating place. You can climb the steps to the top of the cliff, but we only made it half way because of the heat. There is a here which we didn't use but smelled wonderful as we passed by. It was very quiet on the day we went, only a hand full of people so great for taking photos. When we visited, the was a milky green colour, and it is fast flowing. You can go down and take photos, it's so serene and very peaceful. The sanctuary and path is all accessible if you have mobility issues. Parking is and easy. If you're in Murcia, do yourself a favour and take an hour out of your day to this wondrous place, it's entry and you can just turn up. You won't regret it! . This place is unique and stunning.
