Ulverston, United Kingdom Leisure center

One of the Best Places To Visits in Bardsea Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. Very friendly and helpful staff. If you have a medical issue they are very good at putting you on the right fitness programme. Good car park size. Fairly priced. Booked for a swim with my son on a rainy day. Arrived a little early but staff member let us go straight in, so had a little extra time. Nice pool and good size changing rooms. Ulverston leisure is a bit tired in places, but the main thing is the people who work there are really friendly, the pool is usually quiet and the facilities are always clean. I take my little one quite a bit and she loves it. I should also mention that people assume the water will be cold due to it being a proper pool but this is not true. The water is not cold. My 3 yr old is fine in there for around 40 minutes. She wears her Splash About suit to insulate her so we never have any issues. I tend to book my on the Better app so I can pick the quieter sessions. If you join as a basic member (£6.50 for a year) you get 10% off pay-as-you go prices. Played tennis indoors when it we raining outside. Great. The staff are very helpful and often ok for a chat . I hope the tennis courts will continue to be there. They are much needed in this remote part of the Country. A sport for all ages . This remains the best pool for those who want to swim, rather than lark about. The water treatment produces a clear, cool, experience, with no unpleasant chemical effects. The changing rooms are simple, practical and clean. Refundable £1 coin for the lockers. The gym is VERY tired! Most of the equipment is rusty. It's clearly not maintained. The smith machine barely moves on its frame because it's never been oiled. Weights everywhere, all filthy, dusty. Cobwebs, rust, muck everywhere! We had a decent workout, there is a decent range of equipment in a big space, but honestly, someone needs to start maintaining and cleaning before there is an accident! We paid £10.75 for a day pass. Bit of a bit rip off. It says £8 online. Also, we were never asked if we knew how to use a gym or asked to fill in a pre-exercise questionnaire, just paid and went straight in. Not one member of staff in the gym at any time. It's an accident waiting to happen really. Unfortunately not what we expected or hoped. The staff were attentive and available to help which was great but the facilities were really not ideal for our young family. There are no family changing facilities at all. There is a pull down change table in the ladies changing area but no strap to secure baby while you change yourself. There is nowhere safe to lay or sit baby while you change. There is no change table at all in the men's so dads on their own would really struggle. The area of the pool to swim with young children is also incredibly small. Facilities are very tired and I'm sorry to say that the both the changing area and toilets were dirty. The floor was so slippy that is felt dangerous. Multiple ladies warned me the floor was very slippy and to be careful not to fall (especially with a baby in arms). Sadly we won't be returning Could do with a bit of a revamp but ok for serious swimming. Reception area radio ridiculously loud though.
