The scenery is beautiful in all seasons, with plenty of wildlife to spot along the way. The fishing and sailing facilities are also a big draw, and the picnic areas make it a lovely place to spend a few hours with family. The only downside is that parking can be a bit pricey, and on busy weekends, it can get quite crowded. Overall, it’s a peaceful and picturesque location, perfect for a day out in nature. Highly recommended for walkers, cyclists, and anyone looking to unwind by the water Amazing for a days walking, it’s around 8 miles loop. All on gravel paths and fairly flat. Some cars parks are free (grange lane) others you have to pay a few £s. We walked on Sunday and half way is an ice cream van and cafe about 3rd of the way round. I love this place but the car park is so costly at £4.50 when I can only spend an hour there. Nice place for walks, there is also barbecue area, playground and a coffee shop. (at Brixworth) Really nice place for a weekend long or running. 10k is a full circle so it is the perfect length for us🙂 Parking is paid, you can use coins and card. Took us just under 4 hours but we stopped off for lunch at the cafe. Lots of dogs about, not many on leads, some rude owners. One guy told me off for HIS dog licking my dog because of the “bacteria” my dog has. Very weird, but overall great. I walked the full 11km route around the reservoir, which was a great way to take in the stunning surroundings. The path was well-maintained, making it easy to enjoy the without worrying about rough terrain. Along the way, I stopped by the waterside to relax and take in the calm, picturesque scenery—an ideal spot to pause and appreciate nature. It’s also a great location for dog walkers, with plenty of open space and trails to explore. However, I did notice a lack of dog waste bins, which was a bit inconvenient. More bins along the route would make it easier for visitors to clean up after their dogs. After the walk, I visited the café at the nearby country park for a well-earned lunch. The food was tasty, and it was nice to sit and enjoy a break before heading home. Overall, Pitsford Water is a lovely place for a long walk, whether you’re with a dog, friends, or just looking for some fresh air and scenic views. I’d definitely recommend it, but be prepared to carry dog waste bags for a while!
