It’s a beautiful place A very beautiful moderate level hike with many different types of terrain. We started from Hafling bus stop and took the hiking route 2a, and later switched to 2. The entire path has trail signs on it at every turn and markings which is very helpful. First stop Würzer Alm for a drink, second stop Vöraner Alm for a hot meal. Then took a right from Auener Jöch to Stoanerne Mandln. Bring a jacket as it can get a bit cold and windy up there. Although the path is only around 1000m high from Hafling, it is quite long and can take up to 6-7 hours (up and down) depending on person's fitness, so plan it for a whole day. It is one of the most beautiful hikes around Meran and also not so crowded given its popularity (maybe because there are many trails to reach the Mandln). There is a big panorama view up top. PS: Try to find a Mandl heart. We made a big heart shape ♥️ with the rocks which were laying around. No other Mandln were broken in the process of making this. It's not a restaurant! It is the top of a mountain that is easily accessible even by families with children. It offers a fantastic 360 degree panorama which allows you to see many mountains in South Tyrol. The place takes its name from the characteristic stone pyramids built over the years by travellers. Incredible sight! Super hiking, easy and for kids too.
