They have a wider range of animals to see compared to the other places I have been too and in addition, in some areas they have a wide viewing screening and see the animals moving freely. Even managed to catch one of the employees cleaning the shark tank. They were easy to follow instructions throughout the viewing. Wonderful with huge tanks, so many different species of and some big Stingrays and sharks and a selection of well thought it and interesting exhibits. The enormous is breathtaking and you really feel like you are swimming between the sharks. A great place for the whole family. We spent 4 there and saw so much marine flora, fauna, and sea life. Not so big, but if you want to see everything with no hurry, you have to be there for at least 4 hours! Parking and price tickets could be better though. One of the best aquariums of Europe. So much to see, always clean and taken care of. The staff is friendly and there is a lot of bathrooms (Ideal for families of course). I personally to come in a 2 day trip or very early because it takes quite a while to see all. The most experience! 3 main exhibits, the first of which I spent more then two in, gazing at the largest in Europe was comfortable, spacious and signs were easily translated. Many of the staff were bilingual and so helpful! There were little spots to eat including a restaurant, clean restrooms and lockers to store your belongings. Outside the front of Nausicaa is also a lovely green with children's play park and access to watch the sea lions! Sections have bits all ok different floors. There are lifts but some are very small and in the 2nd section there is only 1 lift which services multplie floors so there's a bit of a wait. We just carried the stroller up and down the stairs instead. It has a on site and a cafe but both are very small. The is all seafood mainly .. no sandwiches or cold food options if you dont like seafood. There's a clear lack of seating if you have brought your own food. It was very busy and some sections were incredibly crowded so be mindful of this if you dont like crowds (like me!) The has poor ventilation and no marked itinerary. It is very difficult to find your way and see the exhibits that you are interested in. We felt that we managed to complete our visit by pure chance. The elevators have no marked direction, if you take one you may end up going all the way to the other direction before finally reaching your floor - again with little ventilation. On the plus size, there are enough bathrooms and snacks/restaurants with a variety of choices, but if you come for the and not for the food, I found it very disappointing It's a brilliant Aquarium, and Europe's largest! Been twice and enjoyed it on both occasions, Entry is cheap (compared to the UK) €30 for an adult. It's a 30 minute drive from Calais ferry port along one motorway. Very educational throughout,with interesting and interactive attractions that help visitors understand the importance of our oceans and rivers. A little tricky to navigate around due to its size and number of visitors but not too crowded even during the holiday period. Extraordinary. One could spend the whole day there. We saw two exhibitions, the show with the sea lions and rested in between in the cafeteria, which is facing the beach. The information is very well presented both for adults and children. The sea-lions are amazing, well worth watching the show although that was all in French so hard to understand fully what the keepers were getting the seals to do. Visiting Nausicaá was pure joy for our family 🌊🐠 Our little one was completely amazed by the colorful tropical fish, playful penguins 🐧, graceful rays, and the curious turtles 🐢. We all laughed and pointed at the jellyfish 🪼 and sea otters 🦦, feeling like we had stepped into a magical underwater world ✨ The staff were so friendly and helpful 😊 The only downside was that about 30 percent of the halls, like the tropical and coral sections, were under renovation in April 🏗️ Even so, the felt intimate and unforgettable. (No pun intended) Absolutely day out. So much to do (we spent 3 1/2 there) the 20m tank is incredible. I’d sitting by the glass and watching the animals swim right up past you. There’s a lot of written information in French and English. It’s accessible to all and entertaining for all ages. Plenty of interactive activities for children. The food in the cafe was excellent. To top it all it’s located on a beautiful sandy beach, close to the city centre and its easy to park if you’re driving there ( don’t forget to swipe your parking machine ticket on your way out to get a reduction!) What a fantastic place! There are 3 sections with main section about the oceans. The actual was with stingrays, sharks and other fish. The section on climate change was very educational. There were penguins as a pleasant surprise at the end of the exhibit. The 3rd section had a sea lion show. It was a fabulous day out. Beware that parking at Q park has height restrictions so may not accommodate your car if it has a roof box. Street parking is tricky with small spaces and busy road. Food at the is okay but pricy. We also had audio sets which were a great deal for €3 each.
