From the outside it looks impressive with towers and courtyards, and the views over the surrounding countryside 🌳🌄 are lovely. The interior features art, decorative rooms, and collections 🖼️, giving more of a curated feel than an “old fortress” atmosphere. A spot for a quiet visit and photos, with the charming town of Braunfels 🏡 just below. Need to pay a to go it. Not worth it. The Museum was excellent! Still occupied by the family which means everything îs in good repair. Cool space to visit Tours sell out! We did not had the chance to visit it as we had our dog with us, but outside it’s already pretty to see it. At a walking distance you can get to the small city to have a coffee or eat something. and the surrounding area is absolutely beautiful. The and grounds are magnificent. It would have been a perfect day, except our guide had no sense of humor and was very stuffy. She kept hurrying everyone on when we wanted to take pictures, and demanded that everyone stop taking photos to look at her while she was speaking, leaving almost no time for photos. However, she spent a lot of time talking about the paintings and not nearly enough time answering our questions. When someone asked a clarifying question, she scolded them by answering, "I already told you." and moving on. When someone in the group asked to pause to take pictures, she directed exactly how she wanted everyone to take the photo. It was still a great time, but would have been much better if the guide (Andrea) would lighten up. A very beautiful castle. We took a guided tour, it was interesting, but everything was very fast, I would have liked to see some of the exhibits or rooms of this for longer and enjoy it, but I had to move on with the group. But the is truly amazing, and the weather was wonderful and everything combined incredibly beautifully with the autumn colors. There is a cafe nearby where you can have a cup of coffee and eat a pie, we took a chocolate pie with pear and nuts, it was very tasty ☺️ Stunning place, everyone is very nice. Lovely cafe too. Place is very historic and well kept We visited in beautiful October and paid €4 at the self-serve turnstile to enter the family museum. QR codes linked us to information about the exhibits for no additional charge. We then entered the church for free, followed by a walk into town for lunch. The has a small cafe for coffee and pastries with a souvenir shop. The architecture and fall colors made this a lovely afternoon. The itself is very nice, but it's not accessible without the tour. In itself, this isn't a problem, but the somehow manages to be boring and rushed. The info was given without having a moment to actually look at the paintings - most of the is about the paintings! Very little about the itself, most of which you will never get to see or hear about. The museum is certainly worth the extra few bucks, and there you can take your time to look at the items on display. It was nice, walking around you have the QR that you can read and listening the history in English, Spanish or German. To walk inside of the you must pay 9 euros per person or a family ticket that cost 20 euros. That is a experience. But if you don’t speak Germany you could not enjoy 100%. We use half day for the visit on Sunday… see the during the night is really beautiful and the city lights too.
