Windmill

Kefalos, Greece Historical landmark

This little living museum is a real gem. There's a restored traditional house, bakery, threshing area and the star attraction: the working windmill with centuries old internal timber structure and mechanism. The hosts offer a taste of traditional bread made from flour milled on site. The restaurant on site has terrific views across Kefalos bay and a great menu. Although the price of 5 euros per person is rather high for the very short visit of the and two rooms, but we needed to spend some time in Kefalos until our flight in the evening - so afterall, it was surprisingly nice experience. Service was good, the place was clean and well maintained. Two donkies were a nice bonus :) Visited the with my mom and grandma and paid to get the tour. The is incredibly beautiful and the tour was very informative. We got to see the traditional house and the oven as well.. Our guide (Leo if I remember right) was very knowledgeable and super nice. At the end of the tour we got bread (made at the mill) with Feta and tomato. Very delicious. I can really recommend coming here to check out the mill! Great view, cute cafe and a very interesting museum including the mill, a traditional house, a bakery and donkeys! Visiting the old was a truly special experience. Our guide, Leonidas, explained everything with so much passion and clarity – it was fascinating to imagine how the was used in the past and to feel the history in every corner. What made the tour even more enjoyable was the perfect balance between the informative presentation by a staff member and the freedom to explore the beautiful surroundings at our own pace. The highlight, without a doubt, was the tasting at the end – a wonderful way to round off the visit. A heartfelt thank you for this memorable experience! Wonderful experience during our stay in Kefalos, for just €5 a person u can look inside the windmill, pet a donkey and get a taste of their homemade bread! (also a bunch of other stuff but this was the most interesting for me) Such a lovely museum. It was a nice attraction to visit with our little kid, not to busy and accessible with the stroller. Thanks to Antony for showing us around. We had a good time, great food and an amazing view. A very well renovated site to restore the windmill. The windmill is over 400 years old with some equipment over 800 years old. It still mills today and traditional bread is baked in the old stone oven. You can enjoy the bread with feta and tomato washed down with cinnamon and honey water. Leonidas was a very informative guide. I would recommend a visit here Leo Website change monitoring Monitor any webpage for changes – get instant email alerts when prices drop, new jobs are posted, products come back in stock, or competitors update their sites.
