Especially the changing rooms and the showers. It is reasonable to expect it to be cool in the hall and gym as you will be working out. But not the showers or changing rooms.. Not all an inviting place and no surprise it is quite as there is no atmosphere. Needs a proper cafe,, like it used to. The vending machines are the worst & not fit for purpose. They must be losing Sooooooo much money than when they did have a cafe there from those useless vending machines that your purchases keep getting stuck in. They have also cut the floor to bits too, so having vending machines instead of a cafe has now cost them new flooring that is needed. Not cost effective at all. Not enough separate changing rooms in the woman's changing area. I was taken aback with a young lad showering in the women's section. I say young he must have been in his late teens I have not seen him since. Shame the women on the desk in reception do not feel they should be polite. No smile, no hello, infact most times no acknowledgement. I walk to the desk and have to ask "are you serving?" as neither one shows any interest, manners cost nothing. A couple of lifeguards will show interest and say hello but the majority just ignore you. It costs nothing to be polite Good value for money with all it has to offer. I love it! I would never have thought that I would go in for sports, but the trainers there are very motivating to maintain a healthy and beautiful body! It's a pleasure to work out at the Caerphilly leisure centre! It's no good for a beginner because of lazy people who work here are rude and disinterest give us no help just sat down in his chair felt well out of place as I've been a member of the council gym for an age and I even I felt like a bit self conscious in the gym is all over the place in the building so we are not going to be going back to the gym there I would even drive to bargoed gym instead Great place to work out. Friendly and helpful staff. Getting a bit dated now though. The location of the sauna is odd as it is located a good distance away and if you want a swim you have to gain access to the pool via a public corridoor. Needs a bit of tlc, but the friendly and helpful staff more than make up for the cosmetics. Val on the front desk is always a great pleasure to see.
