During our Daube River cruise we came for a short visit. This magnificent piece of architecture was located in the heart of town. It was built between 1892 and 895. Our guide told us that it has got a vast collection of art, portraits, ancient manuscripts and old books. Due to short visit we could not go inside. Must see when in Sremski Karlovci. They say that in Sremski Karlovac every building, house and street tells a glorious story because this city was the spiritual and cultural center of Serbia. The greatest impression left to us was the Patriarchy Court building. We were delighted with the beautiful facade of the palace, and also with the rich interior of the palace. Palace building is one of the most beautiful buildings in Serbia. It was built in the 19th century, a combination of baroque and renaissance, and truly leaves it without words. The Great Patriarchal Court still dominates the central city square. Since the Patriarchate was later transferred to Belgrade, today is the center of Bishop of Srem and a summer residence of Serbian Patriarch and also home to the Museum of the Serbian Orthodox Church. In the magnificent building of the Patriarchy, the remains of the iconostasis of the famous Serbian artists of Teodor Kracun and Uroš Predić remained. Definitely worth a visit. Patrijaršijski dvor je zelena oaza u srcu Sremskih Karlovca. Ukoliko vas put nanese, obavezno posetite ovo mesto - istorija vojvođanskih Srba je skrivena u njemu. Zdanje pravoslavlja predivno. The place has extraordinary architecture and Stull! Also it has some small but nice garden with lots of roses and trees. We could not enter but it was a Sunday so we can not say how it is in there but I think it is worth a visit for sure! Place full of spiritual history nice palace During annual wine festival this year 2019, there was "Riblja čorba" ansambl, with Bora Đorđević singing his beloved songs.
