It was my first time here today. I came at Jazz festival and enjoyed every moment. The chair was comfortable, atmosphere was good. The hall was spacious and with good vibes. The interior is spacious and well maintained, with good acoustics and comfortable seating. I have seen many plays here, but one that left a particularly strong impression was The Cabinet Minister (Gospođa ministarka). If you enjoy Branislav Nušić’s witty satire and sharp comedy, this performance is an absolute must-see in this theater. While the building might not appear architecturally grand from the outside, the atmosphere and quality of performances inside are truly memorable. The Serbian National Theatre in Novi Sad is the perfect place for an authentic experience. The ladies at the ticket desk speak excellent English and are always kind and helpful. The ballet and opera performances are absolutely fantastic — a great way to explore both Serbian and world culture. Highly recommended for anyone visiting the city! The biggest theatre in Novi Sad, if not in Serbia as well with three theatre halls, it has its own full time orchestra, ballet and theatrical groups. Every now and then they host international festivals or plays from other theatres from different countries. Every day you can find a play or two on their repertoire. The price of individual tickets in 2018 are between 400 - 600 dinars, which is equivalent to 4-6 EUR. It is a very impressive place with impressive repertoire - from Mozart, Tchaikovsky to modern experimental place. If you are in Novi Sad, take advantage of the opportunity to enjoy world class operas, ballet and plays in one of the friendliest national theatres you've ever been to. Highly recommended! However inside of the theatre could benefit from a fresh coat of paint on the floor and refurbished seats that are correctly marked by numbers. If you have time then visit it and you won't regret it. Performances and seating area are fine. The queues for the restrooms (only two booths) and their filthy state are the reason for the 2 stars only. Great building, very nice place. My recommendation to visit this teatar. Amazing! Hmmm, it's really hard to give a review of the place that last time I've visited back in primary school, more than twenty years ago... Even back then, I was kicked out halfway through the play for unruly behaviour... 🤨🤔 Anyway, it's definitely one of the the landmarks of my hometown, for better or worse... I'm not gonna rate overall experience or facilities, cause I don't rate toilets in pubs either... Everything else is really down to the personal experience... Enjoy! In it there are several spacious halls where music, opera and other theatrical events regularly happen. It is a walking distance from most Novi Sad attractions so it is very easy to visit.
