It has never really popped up on my radar, but I regularly travel this road. However, some new signs appeared recently and I decided to give it a go. Glad I did too 😎 the meal was great, the service efficient and friendly, the prices very reasonable. Loads of options. We had a mixed grill with chips and coffee and all were very well prepped. Happy days, will definitely return 😁 Food ok, large portions. Stopped in for breakfast, 1st of all they don't no how to cook a poached egg, also I bought a can of monster it said £1.75 on the can he tried charging £2.00. Its over priced for what you get, and only sounds a bit dodgy 😂 Where to start with this one? I've actually been here before and had a breakfast which was fairly basic and average..... However, my last visit was more of a swift exit as it was dire!!! Still the mind boggles at how two fish and chips with a cup of tea was almost £30??? One of very few places where I've actually walked out of due to the price....! Now let's not pretend this is a gourmet venue of any kind. It's dark, dingey interior isn't terribly welcoming, and neither are the monosyllabic staff who mostly loiter out the back. It's an odd set up that is virtually only - conveniently their bank details are displayed on the counter, should you wish to assist them in tax avoidance.... Alternatively a point is located right outside, but be prepared to take out £20 and be shocked when your bill is almost 50% more 😂 No idea who uses this place to be honest.... Avoid. Nasty, pie n chips, pie hard as rock chucked away after server drenched it in vinegar before I had a chance probably to soften it up, re heated tasteless chips so chucked the lot, and only??? I smell a tax dodge, don't waste your money had fresher road kill, service with a dirty look, very convenient machine... Dive. Food was quite nice- cheap & cheerful! However the atmosphere was awkward and eery. It’s like it cant decide if it wants to be a cafe, a diner, a restaurant, a takeaway or an off license? I’ve never ate a breakfast beside full length fridges. The men behind the counter looked like they’d never seen people before as they kept watching us. It was very quiet and Im not quite sure what happened to the door (is it ketchup is it blood? We’ll never know). The food was actually good, but I wouldnt eat here again due to the atmosphere being uncomfortable and odd. All I can say is- I’ve never ate food somewhere and spent the whole time wishing I could sit outside in the rain instead.🤣 Highly recommend this diner. It's peaceful and welcoming, and the food is delicious. Great sized portions served piping hot. Prices are decent enough, too. Worth every penny! It is only but there is a cashpoint outside so don't let that stop you.
