You can learn a lot about history concerning the first Balkan War while the Balkan states were allies. Later they became enemies and this monument was destroyed. I am very happy I came over to this place to learn about the history of the Ottomans, Macedonia, Serbia, Monténégro... the Balkan war in general. It's totally worth a detour. I stayed around 1:30h. This ruin is well conserved and accessible. The exhibition is small but very interesting. The view from the site and especially of the top of the (monastery, fortress, mausoleum) — sorry but I don't know what it is — is amazing. Bring a jacket and make yourself windproof, get get pretty windy. The site is quite tidy, clean. Thank you for this piece of history. May, 2025 : no tickets needed. Zebrnjak Anıtı, 1912 yılındaki Birinci Balkan Savaşı sırasında, Osmanlı ve Sırp orduları arasında gerçekleşen Kumanova Muharebesi'ni anmak amacıyla inşa edilmiştir. Bu anıt, muharebede hayatını kaybeden Sırp askerleri anısına 1937 yılında dikilmiştir. Anıtın en dikkat çekici özelliği, 48,5 metre yüksekliğindeki bir anıt-kule şeklinde tasarlanmış olmasıdır. İnşa edildiği dönemde, sadece Yugoslavya topraklarının değil, tüm Balkan Yarımadası'nın en yüksek anıtlarından biriydi. Anıtın içinde, muharebede ölen askerlerin kemiklerinin bulunduğu bir kemikhane (ossuary) de yer alıyordu. Anıt, İkinci Dünya Savaşı sırasında Bulgar kuvvetleri tarafından büyük ölçüde tahrip edilmiştir. Günümüzde sadece kaide kısmı ayakta kalmış olsa da, hala Kumanova Muharebesi'nin ve o dönemin siyasi olaylarının önemli bir sembolü olarak görülmektedir. Zebrnjak Anıtı, bölgenin karmaşık tarihini yansıtan ve Balkan Savaşları'nın bıraktığı izleri gösteren önemli bir yapıdır.
