I had the pleasure of a personal at Karavitakis Winery. It was very professional and the are varied, interesting, and of a really high quality. I would definitely recommend this for wine-loving travellers and local enthusiasts. Nice winery, good selection of white, red and two rose wines. Most made from local grape varieties. Great variety of and beautiful views!I attended a tour at the location and was very impressed with the host and selections of available. Complimentary cheese, bread and olives were also provided for snacking.Great location if you're in Crete! It worth a visit. Where I come from we have a huge couture for the but Greek are unavailable so I was really curious to see what the territory has to offer. I was positively impressed from the Greek wines, still it would not be my first choice when other countries are available Pro -Nice venue -Decent wines -Polite staff -Good value Cons -Nothing else to see beside the bottles and a couple of Barrique -I was expecting vineyards but is just a production center, this is the only I’ve done so far where you don’t see any vine -No visit to the production area to show how the is done -long wait in between each Polecam serdecznie wszystkim smakoszom wina. Pyszny poczęstunek, gratis od sommeliera. We had a lovely here with Chania Tours with guide Oz. The were lovely and the snacks were tasty. Highly recommend visiting this lovely winery. Offering excellent Cretan wines, the winery is a must visit place in the area. We had the chance to visit it during open day in November. Karavitakis Winery is an absolute gem and a must-visit for lovers! From the moment you arrive, you’re greeted with a warm and welcoming atmosphere that feels like being part of the family. The tour was both informative and engaging, offering fascinating insights into the winemaking process and the passion that goes into every bottle. The setting is breathtaking, surrounded by the beauty of the Cretan countryside, making it the perfect backdrop for enjoying their exceptional wines. The staff are knowledgeable, friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do, which makes the visit even more special. Karavitakis Winery is not just about great but also about creating memories. Highly recommend this hidden treasure to anyone visiting Crete! They were so knowledgeable, and really took their time explaining the we were interested in. We showed up unannounced and they set us up with two glasses over looking the vineyard. Highly recommend any of the white wine. And if you like reds, they have a Sangiovese, Cabernet, and Merlot blend to die for!!! 4.5 stars. Affordable within driving distance of Paleochora. For 19 euros per person, they provided a lot of olives, soft white cheese, tomatoes, and sesame crackers and tastes of 6 different wines. With each taste, one of the staff tells you the story of the and the smells; tastes, flavors that you might expect. It was a nice way to kill a few hours. After the tasting, we decided to buy a bottle. 3 of the 6 bottles were 10 euros in price and the other 3 were around 18 euros I believe. Parking is on the street in front of the building. There’s not much of a Mountain View from the vineyard even though you are high up but it was pleasant to sit on their grounds, enjoy our bottle, and talk. There’s also a tiny church and a bell on the grounds. There was a nice group of English speaking ex-pat Europeans who happened to have their with us so we chatted with them as well. Nearby is the oldest olive tree in the world- so we saw that on the way back to Paleochora. It has a very small museum and a place with not-so-good ice cream 🤷🏻♀️ We visited the winery for a premium yesterday. Besides us, there was one other couple, so it was very intimate. Mr. Nick, who guided us through the wines, did a great job! He calmly introduced each wine, shared its story, and then asked questions, encouraging us to discover the uniqueness in the glass ourselves. The were delicious! At the end, we sat down for another glass of wine, highly recommended! Highly recommend Karavitakis Winery! We chose Premium Tasting, our sommelier was Nick, the and the whole experience was such a pleasure. Shop inside offers wide range of wines, everyone will find something for themselves.
