They provided free WiFi which was as there wasn't any reception in the area. The stout was good. We didn't want to be drinking driving so couldn't taste their other beers. Clean toilets. The fact that the owner is an engineer and dedicated to sustainability meant that a whole bunch of unique processes and equipment is used in the production - from reuse of olive seeds as fuel to chilling tanks from underground cold water cisterns to a 100% off the grid facility with solar panels. Fascinating. Manos was a personable guide, blunt and knowledgeable. We visited Charma in Chania two years ago and loved it — and I’m happy to say this year’s visit was just as great, if not better. The has definitely improved, and there are more food options than before. We had lunch here and really enjoyed it, along with a that was just as fun and flavorful as last time. Cretan S.A. quickly became one of our favourite spots in Crete. We came back three times during our trip! The patio overlooks beautiful landscapes, the is fresh and affordable, and the food was delicious every time. vibes, service, and an overall amazing experience. Wonderful nestled in the hills above Chania. The staff were excellent and provided friendly, timely and well informed service. The food was tasty, fresh and local. However, the did not hit the mark. If you are going to sample beers, go ahead and order the flight and another drink. Although the tours were closed on the day we visited you can still see their production facility from the courtyard. The of all 6 they offer were excellent and portions were surprisingly size-able. Having developed quite a taste for the delicious Charma lager on holiday, we decided to track it down to its source - and were not disappointed. We went for the full works - of 5 different (with generous sample sizes) and then a final pint (or near enough) of our favourite, accompanied by a rather delicious lunch for just 18 euro each. Family opinions differed (but the dark is the best) but all were agreed: this is a place to visit and a experience - the notes and information from our guide for the day really helped us to understand more about the - and why they taste so good. It’s little wonder that, having started as a hobby in 2007, Cretan now employs 40 people and is expanding further. My rating...max 5* Pilsner 3,8* refreshing Blond lager. 2* (lager is not my favorite) Weiss 4* a banana taste 😍 Special brew ale 3,7* very enjoyable Pale ale 3,5* closer to an IPA. Dunkel 3,5 * lovely....easy to drink. Special brew: light sour 1*, to my surprise it was very very light sour. Very nice place! It’s a young with an awesome Sortiment of beer. You should make the degustation and choose you favorite. I prefer the IPA and the kretan special. The food is from the grill. The portions are huge and super tasty. I give the advice for the grill plate. For 24.- € can eat 3-4 people from the grill plate. Make sure you try all points on the Menü. They just extended there Terasse with big banges for sitting. They have a little shop were you can buy and some souvenirs. And the are also very cheap, I paid 5€ for 1.5l draft and 3€ for 1l bottle each. Unexpected gem, try the menu to sample everything. Tours are unfortunately due to reconstruction not possible at the moment, but you can see the tanks from the restaurant and you can buy tapped in plastic bottle to take home.
