Scotland's highest pub, well worth a visit. It's quirky and fun. They brew some of their own beer too and I loved their IPA. Great place to stop as a Britstop, very dog friendly. Very interesting small old village full of history from the lead mining days and amazing walks too. This is one of those places you have to visit. Dropped in on the Monday, to find it was closed. Luckily, we were staying in Moffat, so we could call back the next day. The gravel entrance was a bit off, putting as travelling on bikes. We had a very friendly welcome, and the barman had a chat-on, which was good. The inside is much nicer than I was expecting, we didn't try the food so I couldn't comment. Overall a good experience. Cool place... interesting decor... staff were lovely. We stayed for free in our camper van, Great walks around the place. The Elevation Stout was cracking! Don't be a fly on the wall... You'll get zapped! Had a great visit up here, great beers really quirky decoration which I liked. The staff were happy to chat, telling us about the local area :) Beautiful place. Smiling courteous staff always. Open till late even on Sunday. Super fish snd chips. On a clear day beautiful views over the Lead mines and hills. Definite go to after a hike to relax with a coffee. 4 cold cyclists just happened to pop in to escape the rain and it was a quiet Friday afternoon. Just a lovely friendly atmosphere and a warm fire. Had a nice warm coffee, benefitted from some local road knowledge and went on our way. A cracking pub! Stayed for 3 nights during the recent storm. The food served was fantastic, highly recommended. The local / own brewery beers were dangerously moorish. The accommodation in the pod was cheap, basic and clean. With no frills and more than adequate, standing up to the storm with no issues. Great value and would definitely recommend. If you are expecting the Hilton for £30 a night look elsewhere and keep dreaming, however if you're realistic in your expectations, for the price you won't be able to find better. I was here for the Wildfire Music Festival. The food and drink were great and the atmosphere was phenomenal. I've already booked my ticket for next years event. Many thanks to the organisers. I think I'll even pop back before next year as the scenery and surrounding areas were very peaceful.
