A large cafe/restaurant with a good variety of tasty breakfast and lunch options, including daily specials. Very friendly staff. Good selection of cakes available after lunch menu finished. On site selling food and craft items. Llamas on site and walking with llamas available. Fantastic Cafe that servers great food at a decent price, you get top quality ingredients. Area inside for visitors with dogs and for those without, as well as the outside. The actual farmshop is amazingly well stick, with some f the nicest cuts of meat and sublime cake selections you could think of. All of this to an amazing backdrop, onsite camping, and a small army of Alpacas for you to enjoy in and around the wild areas, lake, and flower garden. Beautiful cafe with wonderful view and great food! We had pies for light lunch and they were all so delicious. We also got to see alpacas and llamas which was perfect for kids. Clean toilets available too. Thanks for a lovely time! My partner and I stumbled upon this completely by accident, whilst having our 6th anniversary week away in the Lakes. We pulled in, completely enticed by seeing some alpacas in the grassy areas and then we were even more delighted upon seeing Basecamp Shop! The views around the are picturesque and breathtaking. I could sit and just watch the world go by. We came a bit late in the day, so our first visit we had already eaten so perused the wonderful selection of foods available in the shop! There was so much choice, and even better, so many gluten free options available to us. There is a dedicated Free From section in the too. We planned to come back on the last day of our holiday and enjoyed a hearty breakfast each! I had the most delicious porridge with lashings of delicious peanut butter! The coffees were divine too! Staff super friendly! We even got a slice of cake each, for the journey home, from the vast selection available. I was like a child in a sweet shop, giddy to have so much choice available to me (being coeliac). I HIGHLY recommend coming to this shop. Wonderful morning out and a perfect end to our holiday with delicious food and friendly staff. My husband and myself visited late September. We always drove by in a hurry to get to our campsite but the day we visited was a damp grey day and we needed a nice coffee and Pitstop. The best stop ever . So impressed with this lovely .as soon as we stepped through the door we were made welcome by a lovely waitress . She explained about table service etc and that they were a bit short on staff . We ordered coffee and a light lunch and it was served in no time at all . All tasty and piping hot . Then we had a look around the and bought a lovely keswick ale chutney and some cakes for tea later . Will definately be back to try the breakfast xx Large with lots of variety inc. cakes, real ales, fresh marrinated meats, gifts and onsite cafe. Spacious with nice outdoor area, we also saw some alpacas outside too. Absolutely delicious lunch menu and plenty of cakes. Dog friendly area is great. Huge with lots of lovely luxuries. We visited today for my grans 89th birthday and we had a beautiful visit. The staff are brilliant and I wanted to shout out to the waiter that brought out my grans cake with a lit candle and sang along with us to ‘happy birthday’ - even asking her name before hand. I didn’t catch his name but I hope this reaches him.
