We stopped for one night. Our room was large nicely decorated with a large modern bathroom both were very clean. The staff were very and helpful. Food was very good, especially the breakfast. Located close to the M6 which was ideal as we were travelling north. Went in for dinner from Thanet holiday lodges. Had 3 cheese pie and cheese bacon and leak pie which were very nice. Food was good and I’d say cheaper than some of the other Michelin alternatives in the area. We came for Sunday lunch without a booking, and were warmly welcomed by the staff. We were a group of 9, choosing from both the main menu and the Sunday roast. All the food came out hot, quick, and together. A great local ale on tap, with service from the waitress, and table service for drinks. We popped here on a Saturday evening on the off-chance they'd be able to accommodate us for food. Despite being very busy, they did indeed welcome us, and the food did not disappoint. Generous portions and cooked to perfection. Proper homecooked chips with the steak that you rarely come across anymore! Staff and helpful. Highly recommend if you're in the area. We stopped for a night. Lovely clean hotel, really wonderful hosts and service, the breakfast (full English) was incredible, proper local food with real coffee. 100% would come back again! Superb quality, service & welcome! Four of us had a wonderful Sunday lunch a week ago. Made to feel very welcome & at home, staff are just lovely and friendly. The food is top class, very generous portions and at very ‘come again to our table’ prices! It is so good to come away from a restaurant/pub/inn feeling you have had such a good time where you felt welcome & your custom valued and I sincerely hope every member of the family of The Hardwick Inn & staff crew felt valued and respected. Atmosphere was warm and friendly, parking is a little tight at the back though. Staying at Whitbarrow and came here for dinner tonight - the steak and ale pie was incredible, absolutely stuffed with filling, steak was beautifully tender and the chips were fantastic. Very service, local ales and a good selection of gins available. Wow!!
