Menu was limited. Service was slow. Food was ok. The main aim of our visit was to support a struggling business & take our grandchildren to the zoo attached to the pub. Nice day out. Weather was hot. Beer went down well. Car park was free & overall our group went away happy. Lovely place to take your children up to 12yrs old. Lovely people. Very popular It's a pub with a zoo, so well worth a look. Stopped in for lunch and a beer and the went to see the animals. Food was good, you get plenty for your money. Zoo is too, bigger than I expected for a pub garden. Animal look well cared for. Lovely pub with a very personal zoo attached to the side. All the are very well cared for, and it is clear the owners pride themselves in this. It is a popular place and clear to see why. The foxes are incredible to watch, as are the wild cats! I was lucky enough to talk with the owner, and he was friendly, welcoming and down to earth. A fantastic little gem of a pub that we highly recommend. Lots of delicious food on our plates. Booked a table for 9 a lovely place to eat staff friendly food lovely highly recommend, followed by a trip to zoo behind pub which was well worth the vist my grandkids loved it just as much as the adults. The zoo and pub are really good, food was average but not expensive, went on a little ride around, value for money and the whole family enjoyed it! Great for a small local trip! Staff were friendly. Excellent value meals, large portions; cost just over £70 for 4 adults and two children. Plus a great family day out at the zoo, which is getting bigger and better every year for around £40. Food in the pub is delicious!! Cozy fire, lovely atmosphere too. I had a 'meat one burger' and Oreo waffle. Completely gorgeous and great value for money! Use it or lose it Excellent lunch which catered well for my gluten-free wife. Our grandchildren ate every scrap. The zoo is well laid out, with very access to the animals. Our younger granddaughter was very taken by the bob-cat. The only downside is the lack of disabled parking, and it is a long walk from the relief car park. We visited this little zoo, we were very surprised with what where here, we are a family of 8 adults and we also went to the pub for a lunchtime trip on a Sunday afternoon and it was lovely, the zoo is great no matter how old you are, I loved watching the otters, then we went and had a pub lunch its a very cute & cosy restaurant, the food was reasonably price and tasty, booking is required and all staff we met was polite and friendly, its lovely reasonably priced and cheerful day out especially if you live local would definitely recommend to go here 😀 We arrived early for our restaurant booking and were told there wasn’t enough space to stand at the bar while we waited but we could take our drinks outside. We had our elderly grandad with us and this was in February. Very unaccommodating and the bar staff made us feel very unwelcome. We will not be returning to or recommending the Fenn Bell Inn. Great pub kids loved seeing the the food was very nice and reasonably priced We visited for an evening meal this evening as we are staying near by. I booked a table ahead over the phone. The food was delicious, hot, sized portions, reasonable price! Staff were happy, welcoming, happy to help and quick service. Pub was clean, atmosphere, menu for food and drinks. Highly recommend. I have difficulty walking any distance so this is the ideal size for me. Took a friend who's never been before and she's going back with her grandchildren. Lovely local place to while away a few hours. Food was great and they even catered for gluten free people. Took the Grandkids 5 and 3 to see Father Christmas and they loved it. There were things for them to do like making food for reindeer and riding on the Santa Express as well as seeing the animals. This was as like many children the 3 year old wasn't very keen on Father Christmas!! Excellent value food and polite staff. The deserts in particular were amazing and great value. We were a large group of 16 yet food came out very quickly and was nicely cooked. The zoo were well cared for and kept everyone interested for about 1hr.
