Great meal, nice staff and a view Very staff. The menu is limited, but represents a mix between price and quality. Recommend dishes are the roasted duck breast and the apple pie, which are both phenomenal. Less recommended is the duck stew with Guinness sauce. While the flavor is good, the dish contains a lot of fat and cooked skin, which was not very appealing to me. One of our favourite places in the region. Service was warm and friendly. Lovely place for friends, family or a couple. All the dishes were very yummy. The main dishes were quite copious though. Would love to come back next time. Lovely location out in the country. A feel of a British pub. The food was excellent, very plentiful! So it was on for a full five stars... but then there were the old fashioned wiffs of drains that drifted across the terrace and through the dining room from time to time. Just like how countryside French dining always used to be. But I thought they'd got it sorted now. And then at the end, we're all satiated and enjoying a chat over a long coffee at 14hr36 and it appears that we have to leave because they're closing. We'll there goes the feeling of a British pub where one whiles away the afternoon. So, despite much potential, three stars is all our visit can muster. Maybe on another day it would have managed 5, I will not lose hope. Great food & service as usual. I highly recommend the confit duck in pastry especially if you're hungry! Fish & chips is too. Great place with great food. The view is awesome and they are very nice. A place to go with friends and family. The food is very and abundant. We had a fixed menu on St Patrick's day, not fine dining but the food was tasty, plentiful and value for money. The group (a guitarist and a fiddle player called Sonia) were excellent. Highly recommended! Consistently good, fantastic menu choice with great service in an amazing setting. Do make a reservation to avoid disappointment. Visited the Black Duck on a number of occasions over the summer, and we were never disappointed. The food is exceptional, with both traditional French cuisine and classic European dishes on the menu, served in generous portions and cooked to perfection. The staff are always and attentive, even when rushed off their feet, and the service is always on point. There are spectacular views out over the valley from the terrace out the back, and the bar has a warm, atmosphere, and Guinness… We will be definitely returning.
