I am giving it 4 stars because even with the map it was a bit of a challenge of having a cohesive visit. We kept checking the map to make sure we didn't miss anything. I would try finding creative ways of guiding visitors better in a better flow with some creative/visible signages. The inside of the isn't as impressive as other castles. The outside is alot nicer. Chambord is a stunning piece of architecture, as you approach you can visualize some of the scenes from Beauty & the Beast and it's clear to see why Disney was inspired by the castle. When you first enter and find the double helix staircase it's just so crazy cool to see both sides and imagine the different uses for it. Once you get to the top you can truly take in the beauty and care that went into creating the and the garden. If you can find it, you can see how the was used to protect some of Frances most famous artwork during the second world war. Take your to really enjoy the and it's surrounding gardens. Definitely the largest in the Loire Valley! It took us about 3 to inside. The only downside is that you can’t buy tickets for the horse show in advance—they’re first come, first served. That means you might need to get there early when the opens just to secure a ticket, then wait until 4 PM for the show. Aside from that, it’s an amazing experience. With the huge gardens, you could easily spend the whole day here. The has a very authentic medieval feel. castle. It took us 2 to it and probably if it would have been warmer, we would’ve spent more time. Felt only 2-3 degrees warmer than outside, and we were unlucky to have zero degrees. From the drive up, to the walk from the parking lot, to entering to it is breathtaking. The layout is pretty easy to follow and the interior is decorated very nicely. They have enough restaurants to eat and drink koffe. It's not expensive as some tourist spots. Second I this and would definitely it another time. And one of the most expensive! The structure itself is amazing, but this can be viewed easily and too good advantage from the public access areas of the park and roads surrounding the chateaux. The Formal can also be viewed from public areas and honestly, they don’t merit closer inspection. €6 to park on top of €32 for 2 tickets was excessive for what we saw. 1, there is no set route around the and no simple explanation of what you see. 2, There were no staff around the to assist the visitor. 3, Most of the rooms are bare, unfurnished and lacking any information. 4, There is a film in one room giving a of the building, but it is in French only. We spent about 90 minutes touring three floors - views of the from the upper terrace. Great place to spend the day. Amazing views and plenty of things to do: restaurants, cafes, market, cycling, walks on the huge domain, boat rides, picnic places, golf karts to ride around the castle. The only negative experience we had was in the souvenirs shop. The cashier was sooooo rude, insolent showing us the door after we bought a hunting device that we tried to see if it works ( made a deer sound). Young people up to 25 years old go free and their audio guide is an interactive tablet with a treasure game that the kids enjoyed a lot. of Chambord is magnificent.
