There is not much to see here as the seems to have been more of an outpost near the border with Spain. It costs 1.50 Euros to see the inside and the tower. There are audio plays and information in Portuguese about the castle. Stayed free in this charming little village/town with the most amazing and well preserved/restored . There is a small cover charge €3 per adult from memory and it’s well worth the money . Walking around the tops of the walls gives you a sense of what it must have been like back in the day with an advancing army, they have the laid out in such a way that you can learn of the past as you walk slowly around this lovely structure. It is well worth visit and I fully recommend it . The was easy to get to and easy to walk around. You have to pay 1,5 euro to go into the museum and walk around the interior walls. Definitely worth it. You learn about the history of the and the local national park of Peneda-geres. The views we're incredible from every direction. Great place to stop for a break on a road trip or a quick half day trip if you are staying nearby. Not much to see unless you take the tour inside. Unfortunately tours close by 4:30pm so we could not do that. Easy parking close by. Note! Do not drive to the village unless you really like very narrow and tight alleys! Enjoyed this place! You can walk the outer wall for free, and then pay 1.50€ to walk around the inside wall, and go up into the tower. There are some archeological items on display there too. There is also a very cool community oven to view. Worth a stop if you are in or around the national park. Not much to see, although it looks like they are planning updates and more facilities in the near future. The corn storages in the back yard give a surrealistic view and made the trip worth while in the end.
