Simple and very humble dark-ages era in Fulda. Really humbling to visit . The basement is preserved and has existed for a millennium untouched by wars. Really an important 15 minute must-see! Unique ancient church, well restored and maintained. Small but really a must visit in Fulda I'd seen the outside many times before, but recently was able to see it inside ... how unique!!! I loved it!!! A small that is quite old. If you do go I suggest you check out the crypt. As one of the most important Romanesque monuments in Germany, the of St. Michael is a beautiful example of 11th century architecture. The rotunda is already fairly unique, based one the holy sepulcher in Jerusalem, as is the cathedral in Aachen. The capitals and frescos point to its medieval past. Make sure to visit the crypt which dates to 820, one of the oldest pieces of architecture in Germany. Beautiful church, sadly no photos allowed inside. It's not that often you see a in the round, so it was a good place to explore for a bit. Romantic. Very interesting from the 800’s Carolingian style architecture.
