On this lovely, mostly sunny & crisp "pre-autumn" day, the estate was beautiful to walk around in, and the small "Japanese" houses in the park are beautifully restored. At the palace entrance, the restaurant/cafe (opposite the museum ticket & shop entrance), in an older room with an arched ceiling & pillars, was a pleasant spot to visit for afternoon Kaffee und Kuchen (reasonably priced €23 for 2 cappuccinos & 2 pieces of cake), with very friendly & humorous staff waiting on us. Quite relaxing walk. Castle has a nice tour that’s available in English as well and a nice restaurant. Very nice indeed It is a wonderful castle. The gardens are beautiful to visit throughout the year. There is a small beer garden, a terraced café and restaurant. Dogs are permitted in the park on a lead. Parking is available for a small fee. A wonderful venue for different events. Very nice castle and the groups that did reenacting were wonderful I attended an extremely interesting tour of the first floor, so much European history and a very knowledgeable guide.
