One thing that can be improved is adding more lights arrows on the floor to guide you through the sequentially. The only thing I didn't like is the shop. I wished they offered magnets or keychains that contain the name of the place but found none. As fans of Ikea, we absolutely enjoyed learning about the of this iconic brand and its fabulous products. This is only for fans of Ikea. Others will tend to get bored. There is a lovely play area for children but in my opinion, it is not a good idea to bring kids to the Ikea as they are unlikely to appreciate it. The restaurant has the usual great food. The gift shop has some interesting pieces but we found them expensive. Lockers are provided. There is the Ikea hotel opposite the as well as the Ikea store about 500m from it. From the station it is a 5 mins walking distance. I stopped on my way to Stockholm from Copenhagen. Well-presented and interesting of the company and a look into where many of their innovative ideas came from! There’s also a great exhibit on the region and its humble history, and how that influenced IKEA’s founder. Recommended! Brief but beautiful overview of IKEA’s collections and history. Great for kids. Very quick visit; you’ll need 30 minutes to an hour. Cafe is great too! Wow!! I especially enjoyed the different decades of furniture on display. It is a comprehensive look at the principles that IKEA was founded on and how those same principles have been applied throughout its history. We also enjoyed the restaurant and also visited the actual Ilea store a few km away. I only wish that the movie had given a better background on when/how IKEA began, more about the founder’s background, etc. No trip in this area of Sweden is complete without a stop here. It was interesting to learn about IKEA's and life in Sweden. The featured some fun interactive games, like a quiz. Of course, I had to try their Swedish meatballs—they were delicious! Very nice experience. Great to learn about swedish heritage and The Ingvar Kamprad's phenomenon that IKEA is. Children visit for free and and the entrance fee for adults is minimal 60sek. Very inspiring place. A must visit if you want to learn the how Ingvar Kamprad built IKEA from the beginning. I was passing, so I called in. If you have spent hours and hours of Sunday afternoons in IKEA, and you're of a certain age ; you'll appreciate this walk back in time to see the stuff you bought, then offloaded on your kids in a pseudo encouraging way to get them to move out.... This is a fantastic place to go if you are either an IKEA fan or a product design junkie. Since I am both, I was overjoyed to see how well designed and laid out this is and how detailed the exhibits are. I quite liked the background on their product design process, which included looking at the ergonomics of things like kitchen layouts. I would definitely put this on a par with the World of Volvo museum. This is a great place to visit with the whole family. The itself has a “workshop” suitable for kids, there is an Ikea hotel just across the parking lot with a communal kitchen on every floor (and plenty of games to borrow in the lobby), and a very unique (but still in the IKEA family) restaurant also off of the same parking lot. This has been on my bucket list for quite a while and I’m so glad we were finally able to visit. As fans of IKEA for years it was such a fun but also very informative experience. We especially enjoyed the first more historical exhibit and also all the different collections of furniture through the decades! Definitely worth the detour. A really nice museum!! You can tell it was created with a lot of pride and love. Don’t pay attention to the negative comments saying it’s small. It’s not an art gallery where you spend four hours, but I still spent over two hours there. And it’s not about the time, the is really well organized, just like every IKEA store, with lots of details and notes about Ingvar Kamprad and the growth of IKEA. And don’t miss the merch store, it was also really nice!🇸🇪 Engaging and insightful to see the IKEA heritage and democratic design philosophy to bring well designed products to the many people!
