One of the most enchanting places one can visit. A great leads to a fairy tale water fall where imagination meets the senses and the mind can escape reality. I just came from a HELlas hike and back, you need watershoes or slippers for this trail. The is overgrown, i went too far down the and almost reaced Macedonia. In the end i was not greeted with a waterfall. However it gave me time to reflect, sometimes even after great effort there is no reward at the end of the journey.. certain paths end and you have to cross a river and follow a new one. Sometimes you have to be creative and create your own way. I wouldn't do it again.. i would also suggest you don't be as naive as i was and just keep going hoping to find the waterfall. I started the hike around 15:00 and when i came to the conclusion i wasn't going to reach the ever it was 19:00 at this point i had very little water left and no food. However adrenaline kicked in and i made it back right around sundown. Just enjoy the Thermal baths or the waterfalls closer to the populated area the hike is NOT worth it only if you want to challange yourself or whatever. Nice refreshing walk, one definitely needs walking shoes and to be in active physical shape. Thanks to previous review we went by car to "Παλαιό Φυλάκιο Λουτρακίου"- The Chapel, then followed blue arrow signs and red marks. In about 45min and approx. 90 red dots we saw the waterfall. A very nice in the woods. The coming from the river is difficult to find and be prepared to cross the water many times A very nice and short route about 1.5-2hr total with nice views and fresh air. The and trees create an amazing scenery. Amazing walk to an majestic near Thessaloniki. ❤️ A Natural Paradise 🌿 Location: Approximately 1 hours by car from Thessaloniki, this green oasis is nestled amidst gorges, waterfalls, and forests. As you explore, you’ll encounter the St. Nicholas stream and the stunning Ramno Bore gorge, which features three main streams: Isio Pefko, Louta, and Kounoupitsa. 🏞️ Hike Details: Distance: Follow the 9.5 km circular trail that immerses you in the heart of northern Greece’s natural beauty. Duration: Expect around 4 - 5.5 hours of absolute fun. Terrain: The first 30 minutes are challenging as you navigate a rocky slope among trees. Later, a green, leafy leads you to the Ramno-Bore gorge. Highlight: The 12-meter Kounoupitsa Waterfall, straight out of a fairy tale, awaits you. Swimming Opportunity: Take a refreshing dip in the or the outdoor pool at Pozar Baths. 🚗 Driving Times: From Thessaloniki: Approximately 1 hours by car. From Edessa: The drive takes about 45 minutes. From Pozar: Well, you’re already there! Feel free to explore this natural wonder and immerse yourself in its beauty! Pleas take your waste always with you. 🫶 It's worth visiting! We went on a hot summer day, you can enjoy a bath in the fresh water! We have followed one of the reviews for directions. The from the temple is 1h downhill. Then on the way back it is more than 1h30 uphill. The goes through a cherry orchard. Then once you go into the forest, there are small yellow marks hanging on some trees to guide you to the waterfall. We did it in leather sandals, but we recommend trecking shoes. You can leave the car at the small temple and start walking from there to the and back. You can also make a small picnic at the waterfall. Unable to find the or the right path. Don't follow google maps. We and other people we met along the way, were just wandering aimlessly for a while until decided to give up finding the path. Incredible place! The walk is not that hard for beginners, The is beautiful and you can swim there easily. The start of the walk starting when you see the building that i uploaded there is 2 roads you take the road that is going down. On the way there you will cross a cherry field and a small house. Just keep going you will find the path. Enjoy and keep the place clean!😍 I come back every year. The restaurant is very tasty.
