It was pretty clear part of the staff still needs to learn on the job (some missing orders), but the overall atmosphere was very friendly. Pancakes were good and they do have some other dishes as well (salads, satay, etc.). Parents with very young kids should stay with their kids when they play outside, as there is a ditch without a barrier. I would also recommend the restaurant to think about the metal profile on the terrace floor. We've seen multiple people trip over it in one afternoon. Finally, it's a great place to combine a drink, lunch or dinner with a hike in the area, which is beautiful. This old farmer house out of the 17th century, is part of a complex with camping etc. I was there with my family on a sunday evening and since the weather was excellent we had reserved a seat outside. Since it is a Pannenkoekenboerderij we selected an "pannenkoek" as well. Must confess you can make a choice out of 127!!! different "pannenkoeken" in the most strange/weird combinations like with "rookworst and zuurkool and served with piccalilly" or with "gerookte zalm and garnalen" at the end I chose a "boeren pannenkoek met kaas" number 88 on their list. Only when it was served it came, besides the cheese, onions, mushrooms with on top 5 slices pineapple! (On the picture I already took off the slices 😁 you can only see the 5 marks where they were) What a combination a so called "boeren pannenkoek" topped with pineapple...how grose and sorry but it has nothing to do with the theme "boeren" Who invented this should give it a considerable thought if this is really the correct combination by leaving the pineapple out. Honestly saying, disregarding the pineapple, I ate better "pannenkoeken" elsewhere even not that far from there in Heerle to be precise. Furthermore to pay Euro 4.40 for 8 small slices baguette (2 baskets) is maybe also a little bit overdone 🙈....the service also left a lot to be desired, but perhaps that was due to the hustle and bustle of that evening, although that should not be an excuse.... Lovely house, and just down the road from where we were staying at the Watervillas..by the harbour. Had a savoury one night (bacon, mushroom, onion & cheese) which was lovely, then another night an apple, ice cream & whipped cream one. Both were absolutely beautiful. If you're around these parts then go here & enjoy, u won't be disappointed. We went here for my nephew's birthday and it was a pleasant experience. Great place. The service was good. (it's for crêpes, not American pancakes) They have A LOT of choices -from sour to sweet and salty with many mixes and toppings. The price is a litlle above average about €12,- for a good with a topping. Beverages are priced normally. But the price range differs according to choice. It's a place to go with kids, they have a really playground with animals and a mini golf playground. It is to sit outside on a sunny day. Great atmosphere and friendly service, but the expensive pancakes will disappoint you. After 10 years in the Netherlands, finally found a place where the pannekoeken was amazing! The service was super fast and everyone was really nice. Would definitely come back there again.
