Great location, very quiet when we visited. Fantastic panoramic views An old city with an fantastic view down all the way to Preveza. Quite a way from the Hotels so you basicaly have the whole site for yourself. And as an bonus the Zalongo monument is just a short way from it. Bit of a drive into the mountains but well worth it. I would advise going in the morning as it gets very hot and there is a fair walk to the amphitheatre Amazing place, not well advertised. You need to park outside not on the site. An easy walk from the parking. Yhis is a unique archeological site. It is located on the top of a hill and you have a eide view of the Ionian sea. A magnificent theater and one of kind market place. Best period to visit late spring early summer. It worth to visit, but you can see nicer ruins in Greece. But history of the place is quite interesting and the gorgeous view over the sea and Ambracian Gulf is fantastic and exceptional. Definitely worth a visit, especially in combination with the Dancers of Zolongo, the Monastery of Agios Dimitrios and then dinner at αρετή in Kryopigi! The archaelogical site is medium sized and well kept. It's free of charge, access is easy and I just loved the place. Mind you, you must be passionate about ancient Greece and able to see through vestigia what the city was like. It may not be stunning but it's definitely not crowded and you can enjoy the place at your ease.
