Amazing with a great collection of greek pieces include a typical ancient greek house. Aris and Georgia (Museum guides) really friendly. Wonderful collection, excellent presentation, kind and friendly staff. It provides a coherent image of ancient Amvrakia, compensating in a way the fact that most of the remains of this once marvelous city has been lost under the modern city of Arta. The Archaeological of Arta was built at "Trigono", near the historic bridge of Arta, and opened to the public in the fall of 2009. In 1972 the Archaeological Collection of Arta was founded, which was housed in the renovated Bank of Parigoritissa Monastery. This collection included finds from Arta and the wider area. However, the huge volume of movable finds from the salvage excavations of the last decades of the 20th century made it imperative to establish an Archaeological in the city, both for the presentation-exhibition of the most important of them and for the safe storage of the rest. A small mostly about ancient Amvrakia. Decent presentation. The room about everyday life was intresting. Interessante Ausstellung. Sehr informativ. They got a pretty collection of artefacts from the Ambracian civilization. This is a fabulous small scale museum. It’s permanent exhibitions and the story line is excellent. €4 entrance for two adults…worth it. A very nice museum. Fine presentation. Small jewel. Wonderful little exhibiting what artefacts have been discovered to date and not taken to other bigger museums in Greece or stolen by foreign scavengers and exhibited in foreign museums. Excellent exhibition! A great experience! A beautifully organised museum. A place you must visit while visiting Arta. The exhibits span thousands of years and showcase the rich history and importance of ancient Amvrakia, present day Arta. The warrior’s grave is one of the most memorable and unique exhibits. The only negative was the fact that there was no shop and the cafe was closed when I last visited. Excellent with local historical artifacts.
