Golfe du Morbihan Vannes Tourisme - Bureau de Vannes

Vannes, France Tourist information center

Top-rated.online cuts through the clutter, highlighting only the reviews that are most helpful, earn the most likes, or come from the most active contributors. A great week sailing the Golfe. If you miss it you will be the loser. We spent 2 days in Vannes which we really liked. Medieval city with a superb cafe and street culture. More sophisticated than we expected. Great for serious foodies! Lovely people wherever we went. Very nice place with many helpful people informing you in different languages. The turistic offer is varied, well organized and thought for different ages. Don't forget to demand first their recommendations that may be different attending to the days or seasons. Tres Accuellant Personnelle was helpful, but she could have had a little more of a smile. Quite a useful tourist information centre, loads of leaflets and very helpful people with pretty good English! Also, quite a few chairs and benches which is nice to read the leaflets! I arrived in Vannes today Saturday around 1 pm by car, paid 24,00 € for parking near the port. There was a sign next to my car warning that you couldn’t park there on Sunday because of a festival (Festival D’Arvor). The first parking was closed because of an event, and I was happy to have found a spot to visit lovely Vannes, although it was the most expensive parking fee yet in Bretagne. When I got back to my car, it had been towed. It took me 2 hours, 2 different police station indications (gendarmerie national and commissariat de police), a 20,00 € taxi ride outside the city and 135,00 € for the car towing to get my car back, and that only due to a really bad signaling service from the city. According to the police municipale there had been 2 signs, one signaling the event on Sunday, another one signaling one on Saturday afternoon. Come on! As a foreigner it is already difficult to read the signs in French, and then they hang different types on the same street side? I had only seen one sign, the one next to my car and the payment terminal. If there was another one, it should have been placed differently. Not a very welcoming way of treating tourists and locals. I feel ripped off by the city of Vannes. We met many people with the same fate at the towing company. If the police sends me a ticket, I will make sure to hand it over to a lawyer. This was so unfair and a result of the unprofessional way of doing things in Vannes. Be careful where you park your car in Vannes is the only warning I can give to fellow tourists. Definitely a must see if you were in the area. It is a quick drive from.Vannes so easy to take a taxi. A very good tourist information centre, the young lady that looked after us was very helpful. She came across passionate and very proud of the area and this reflected in all the places she recommended we visit , because of this we stopped extra days in the area and visited all of her recommendations, we loved the area and will definitely return.
