Very old ship amidst an industrial harbour type environment. Rather a weird place. One can climb up and find more old stuff lying around. The motor is still rotting away inside. Photogenic location though! A very cool ship. Our visit it was windy and rainy. The ship is getting very old. I don't recommend climbing on it after looking at the support structure. Very old boat by the newer harbour development - we stopped off on our way out of town to see it - it is just an old boat but as usual in Iceland the views around it are stunning, especially in the snow. It is a curiosity. interesting location for photography in Akranes. From the parking lot, walk about 50m to the boat. Nice experience and nice photo, even though the weather wasn't the best. Pretty cool old boat, definitely a lot of trash around and behind a building but cool landmark. Can explore on the rocks beyond and get a decent picture of the lighthouses We saw our first ever aurora in this area, it’s was super exciting. The ship is great, built in 1955 and left.
