Two well preserved lighthouses with great all around. Definitely climb to the top of the newer lighthouse, singing while you go (great acoustics). Very nice restrooms available. Plenty of parking. Small visitor center with historical information. Very cool 45 minutes outside Reykjavik. The all around are incredible, and the owner/groundskeeper absolutely loved showing us around! Not much to see, except two lighthouses. Both the visitor center and bathrooms were closed on Saturday, minor inconvenience. Well worth a visit - even just to take photos as the are stunning . It was very quiet on a snowy January morning. But interesting history and nice visitors centre with toilets nearby. The two lighthouses are taken care of by a wonderful local gentleman, you pay 500isk (app 3 eur) and he opens it up and you can climb to the top. In fact, it is the only in Iceland where you can do that. Highly recommended. Pretty reasonably priced what is it. Amazing on the top on a clear day! You will have to climb over rocks. Make sure your shoes have grips on them. Rocks can and will be slippery. Very nice to see. My family and I (2 Adults & one 3 year old) visited this lovely little in Arkranes. The guide in the Information Center was very welcoming and polite, and spoke very good English. After paying for the entrance, which is very reasonable since you can reach the very top of the to have amazing of the surroundings. We would definitely recommend coming to see this lighthouse.
