What an incredible experience! I have ridden many a trail in the US, and I've never 🐎 as well behaved and willing and herd-bonded as this! No biting or kicking among horses--even when on top of each other. I was amazed! The clearly benefit from the amazing rules that protect them (ie 15min break per hour of & 6-7months out to pasture--in the south, without shoes...naturally herding their best lives. ❤️ 💙 Susanna was amazing, answering all of my myriad of questions when I ended up at the front of the line, after our 15min snack break! What a great experience! The staff was AMAZING and super accommodating when we changed our to avoid worse weather. The four ladies who were our guides were expert equestrian and SO friendly. I would highly recommend this to anyone. Only my second ever a horse, I did the lava and it was perfect! Super convenient to get picked up and dropped back off in Reykjavik. The guides are great at making you feel comfortable on the horse, and I love how the initially large got split up into the fast and slow riders. (I chose to be in the fast group, was so fun to my when he was trotting!) A super wonderful experience, you get to hang out with the for a bit afterwards, and it was the best birthday present I could ask for :) thank you Ishestar! Ishestar Centre was truly one of the most unique and beautiful experiences I’ve ever had. The Icelandic culture is one of my absolute favorites—they care for their better than they do themselves, and it really shows. I’ve been my whole life, but I had never the gait “tölt” before. It was the coolest thing ever—so smooth it felt like I was flying on air. The staff were kind, the were amazing, and the scenery was absolutely breathtaking. This is a one-of-a-kind I’ll never forget and would recommend to anyone visiting Iceland. Staff (including horses) we're all very friendly and accommodating. I had never ridden a in my adult life, but had a great time. Give my sweet boy Rudy some extra sugar cubes! Fantastic experience! This was a delight. It was driving rain the whole time, but I'd call that an authentic winter experience. Ishestar provides rain pants, rain coats, and boats in needed. The ponies are the cutest, friendliest little dudes on the planet. The guides match you with your based on your and comfort level. About halfway through the tour, you can chose to split into either a slow-paced or a slightly faster-paced group. The faster goes up to a trot. The takes you through a series of big trails. They go through the lava flats and through a little section of forest. Afterwards, you untack and then head inside for hot drinks. The pick up and drop off service was totally worth the extra price. We accidentally left our backpack behind, and the stables genrously arranged for us to recieve it during the course of the next round of pick ups. Service was all-around incredible. are clearly well taken care of. I'd take the again in a second! The girlfriend had a blast doing the viking with Hugrún. Great guide, great horses, wonderful landscape. Great place for to go for a fast through the lava fields! We only had four + the guide in our group, and we got to all the Icelandic gaits for a three hour (Viking Tour). Must-do for equestrians visiting Iceland! We did the lava on a rainy day. If you want, you can get rain clothes and I would definitely recommend it, as the were soaking wet. Luckily, once the started, it stopped raining. We are beginners and the have been super sweet and easy to ride. Even with no experience, you won't have problems.. The guide took the to take pictures of everyone who'd ask for. It was a really nice ride. Incredible. Much better than expected! I have my own and quite a bit, but expected this to be like so many others, just plodding along slowly, single file, at a snail's pace. But here, they select for you based upon your and capability. They asked if I wanted one that liked to go fast, and the answer was yes! They separate novices from "those with much and excellent balance" from the rest that opt for a very nice comfortable and conservative meander through the meadows." We spent a few minutes getting acquainted with our at a leisurely pace then periods of faster, then slower, then faster enjoying the smooth (almost) gaited trot of the Icelandic horses. The scenery was beautiful, with a lava field to one side and meadows of lupine and other wildflowers on the other. Upon returning and joining back up with the other group, we heard many compliments from those in the more leisurely as well, so I'm confident that it would be a highlight of the trip to Iceland whichever option you choose. Very highly recommended! We went horseback today and chose the Lava tour. The consisted of about 30 people. The groups were later divided into beginners and more riders. The more did a lot of tölt, which was great. Excellent and time. Love how they treat their horses. The staff was accommodating to everyone and such a wonderful experience! Brilliant. This was my first on a horse, so important factor. Was taken on a gentle walk around designated trail. More can take a slightly more adventurous route, which is also offered to confident beginners; so don't expect glazier galloping. Team were lovely and supportive. Lots of positive energy. And I made a new friend called Rubin. Fantastic experience. My wife and I had a fantastic time. Despite the freezing cold, our horseback was an enjoyable and memorable experience. The guides were incredibly friendly, accommodating, and made sure we were comfortable throughout. They also took great photos of us, which was a nice touch. Highly recommend for anyone looking to try horseback in Iceland! Very impressed with this stable! Professional and well maintained with informative and friendly staff - close to Reykjavík with incredible landscapes. We celebrated my son’s 10th birthday with a family with waffles. It was a highlight of our trip and all family members, ranging from 8 to 74 felt safe on the beautiful Icelandic horses! The are well cared for, healthy and friendly. Good tack, gentle mouthpieces. I only wish I had better communication with my travel agent, because I ended up on the super beginners and I would have appreciated something more. But! They asked me what kind of I wanted to ride, and I am super happy with the one they gave me. They're good at matchmaking 😁 AMAZING! Best horseback my daughter and I have had and we’ve been dozens of times. The guides took such care to make sure we stayed together on the trail and took beautiful photos of us on my phone. The were very well taken care of. Thank you! If you consider booking a with Ishestar - do it! I went out today on the 10am and we encountered the most beautiful sunrise. It truly feels like a movie scene through the snowy landscape on these beautiful horses. It was all very well organised and the staff are so lovely and patient. We all got given overalls to put over our clothes in the cold weather. I was in the and loved that we got to Tölt firsthand! Truly an amazing for seasoned and beginners alike. My fiancé and I had the most incredible here. We reached out short notice On a very busy holiday weekend and they managed to accommodate us on the most magical private tour. The were well taken care of and so fun to ride, Our guide was very knowledgeable and kind, and the Owner Magnus was so accommodating and easy to communicate with. we could not have asked for a better opening adventure to our stay in Iceland. 100% recommend if I could give it 10 stars I would thank you for the most amazing time!! We had amazing with friends. We did the lava and enjoyed it a lot! The guides were professional and we all felt comfortable at all. The are super calm and love being scratched. Highly recommend! A friend and I just returned from Winter with Islandhestar. We loved every moment of our 4 days stay at the farm of Hanes and his family. There were several snowfalls and a good amount of snow which made the absolutely magical. There is nothing like cantering on a fantastically smooth in a winter wonderland! And brushing the icicles off the woolly coat every morning was a novel experience! Accommodation was lovely ( up to 6 in several chalets), meals at the farm delicious, and the company always cheerful. Thank you to Hanes and his family for their warm hospitality and attentiveness to each rider and horse.
