Yes, you're headed in the correct direction when you're driving along the unmade road; there should be many signs for the winery on the right hand side. Eleni looked after us, is delightful and an oenology student. She's very engaging and explained the wines, their tastes and the food pairings to us. She speaks perfect English. We choose the 8 (€17) comprising, 5 whites, one rosé and two reds. The came with Cretan rusks (like brown bread croutons) with tomato salsa. We also enjoyed the (small) cheese selection (€14.50 more than enough for 4 people; the feta is particularly good). It's a small, family-owned winery. Eleni gave us the tour, explaining the process from vine to bottle. Well worth the visit. Our hotel arranged a car for us (€120) from Rethymno. Make a reservation even if only on the drive there! Great wines. Really kind service that gives nice insides into each individual wine. Pricing is also really fair. You can come without any reservation during opening hours. In case you want proper dishes though, you need to do reservations. Winery tour and a selection of 6 or 8 wines. All were great. We also tried the small dish of a good Cretan cheese selection (3 types). Staff was polite and the environment equally nice. First things first. The staff (the girls) and the owner (Stelios) were incredibly good and friendly and their knowledge was tremendous! They explained to us the hole history of the winery and they gave us a tour at their facilities. Then they explained us very thoroughly what we were about to taste accordingly with that we have paid (we chose the 8 pack+cretan rusks). All of the were amazing and the snacks (cretan rusks) and the cheese we have ordered were extremely tasty!! It was a very nice experience and I strongly recommend you to visit them! We visited Klados Winery spontaneously and were warmly welcomed to a – every was excellent! The two staff members were very friendly and kind, guiding us with passion and knowledge. A lovely experience in a relaxed setting. Highly recommended – even without a reservation! We had a wonderful experience. Parking was readily available, the views were beautiful, the were tasty and although we had not booked ahead of time, we were invited to join a winery tour. I highly recommend this venue for a relaxing and enjoyable outing.
