Swedes are a bit snobby about ski resorts, and Sunne has a very "low-status" reputation. Absolute nonsense. Fantastic little resort, ideal if you only want to ski for a couple of days. And less than an hour from Karlstad, so avoid the horrific queues to Sälen. Service, personal och mat får högt betyg We come every year from UK for a couple of days snowboarding. It's the perfect getaway for a few days on the snow. The restaurant has home cooked food that changes everyday. The standard log fire grill is a hive of activity so don't forget your hot dogs. The farm room downstairs is great. The rental shop hires quality stuff. The only grip is that the chair lift is so slowwww Everything feels old and worn. Today only two slopes were open and still charging full price. Lift charge very expensive. The blue slope for beginners was closed but they chose to open the two red slopes. This ment a lot of beginners were terrified going of the red slopes or disappointed, creating a huge cue on the kiddy slope. Staff uninterested and rude. Värmstuga is in a basement and an unpleasant place to be and I couldn't find a baby changing table... Not worth it in my opinion, they should try a bit harder. It has potential. Helt fantastisk ställe! Backarna var jätte härliga och väl underhållna. Passar nybörjare såväl som mer erfarna. Från toppen hade man bra utsikt över Fryken. Super welcoming staff and for all skill levels, from beginner to advanced. The were well prepared and offered a mix of natural and man-made features. There's truly something for everyone here! A bikepark. It's good for everyone. It has easy tracks and more technical ones. Enough choice. And nice people who help you if needed. Worth a visit! We tried the bike park over midsummer weekend. It has a really good mix of downhill for all abilities. The and berms are really well built, so even the blue trail is fun as you can hit the turns at warp speed. I would say the could benefit from a few more features such as jumps/rollers/drops, but we had fun just railing turns. Even over midsummer the park was quiet, so although the lift isn't the fastest, there was no waiting in a queue. All the staff were super friendly and helpful. We'll definitely be going back as there were 2 under construction that we would like to try out. Nice to see small ski resorts like this turning into bike parks for the summer. Hopefully Sunne gets enough visitors to make it worthwhile for them. There's no reason why it can't be as good as Järvsö, they have the elevation and the steepness to create something great. We went downhill biking for a day. The prices for renting equipment and bikes were fair. The staff was also super friendly and helpful. They also kindly accommodated the children when getting on and off the lift, giving you plenty of time to secure your bike, etc. It was a super fun and adventurous day; we'll definitely be back!
