After the tour I went to the cafe for some drinking followed up by the mid-summer BBQ. This is organised in the weekends during the summer only. What really disappointed me is that the prices in the cafe are really high, really touristic. The average price for a is around ~€4,50. This could be improved in my opinion! Nevertheless the BBQ was good and with the all you can eat concept you can fill your stomach as much as you like. Really nice place. Very friendly service. Good selection, not only their own beers but some guest taps and bottles My favourite is Hertog Jan and my girlfriend surprised me with a camping trip and visit to the brewery. We timed it at the same weekend they were selling their 2021 barrel aged Hertog Jan, BUT we didn't know about it in advance and the tickets for that were sold beforehand, so we went for a borrel at the proeverij instead (dinner there was also fully booked 😂). We had a tasting tray along with peperworst and cheese on a nice sunny day. Really a evening, and will be back for the proper experience! Friendly staff and food. Had the 'zoervleisj', my girlfriend had the 'zwarte kiep'. We both liked it. Service was a little bit slow, but it was very busy so that's OK. Overall a experience and the food was excellent.
