A municipal mature tree lined hilly parkland course with undulating fairways with some tight fairways & dogleg holes with fairway bunkers & true greens. Don’t remember seeing any water hazards. There are some lateral ditches so course management comes into play on some of the holes. The greens, fairways & bunkers were all in condition. Not much rough due to the trees. You will find practice putting green, driving nets & friendly staff. Overall a challenge. Sadly no racks for the bunkers. A test of golf it has a bit of everything. It's had a lot of money spent on it in the last couple of years and it's now paying off. It gets thumbs up from me. Definitely worth playing. Well kept greens with nice amenities in the club house. Very hilly if you plan to walk the course. Magnificent The course conditions at Basildon Golf Course were generally and overall it was a challenging parkland course. The greens are very well kept, and the fairways are good, with light and deep rough. The twilight green fees were reasonable but a bit pricey at other tee times. Unfortunately, there is no conventional driving range at this course, but there are some mats and a net by the clubhouse to hit some balls. The practice green was very large and one of the best I've seen in south Essex; similar quality and pace to the greens on the course. We felt the course is let down by the fact there were lots of members of the public strolling across the course during play, kids riding bikes on the course, and lots of dog walkers. The course would benefit from some better quality flags, and I didn't see any rakes in the bunkers (maybe they get stolen). ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 18 hole 🕳 golf course and not the easiest course to attempt. I love the mixture of pat 3 to 5 range it offers. Is one if the best course played on. True green firway with bunkers. Three stars because of the fee they charge after 6:00pm as you can just about play only 4 holes before dark so why the £9 charge? First time playing here and loved it. Quite a few blind shots, but trusting your GPS and/or the images on the tee boxes will keep you more or less on track. Quite a mixture of different types of holes. Will definitely return.
