Amazing views, such a lovely place with historic significance. Never heard of it before now. Is gorgeous, good transportation to this location too. I loved it. Such a lovely place to live, to come to enjoy the views of the boats, go for a run, cycle or just go for a promenade with family, friends or your furry members of your family. ❤ Beautiful place with not so beautiful prices! Everything on the door step here, but too rich for my tastes! One of 2 locked marinas in a tidal river (before Rochester bridge) so a bit of a captive market as Gill is also expensive. Still, excellent place if you fancy a bit of luxury! Showers are very clean, toilets very clean, launderette and good location! Just had a walk in the sunshine with my daughter. Nice and relaxed, the marina looked lovely and we had iced coffee and a cake from a pop up shop. Very nice. St Mary Island (self guide) walk route. I really love my morning walks through St Mary Island. Such a lovely, calming & friendly area with nice views. Very well developed area and transformation from chatham dockyards whilst preserving its history of the royal maritime heritage. The MDL Marina is set in a historic dockyard crammed with loads of history. You are very lucky when walking around to see so much history and so many different retail businesses with plenty of options for food and drink. The MDL team are very helpful and go above and beyond. I feel our custom is valued and the team really care about the clients who choose to beth their boats at Chatham Marina. The lock opens onto the river Medway with stunning views of Upnor Castle. We even see a seal just outside the marina. A great Marina well maintained and helpful team members. Keep up the good work. We had a great day, boarding a warship, then a submarine. We enjoyed the RNLI lifeboat display, what an incredible institution. The Ropery was the jewel in the crown as far as we were concerned, stepping back in time to see how ropes were made 400 years ago and still made today! The site is vast so get your walking shoes on, it’s all level though so thoroughly enjoyable. There are plenty of places to picnic or enjoy the on site cafes. Obviously, access to the ships and the submarine are subject to physical capabilities. Plenty of toilet facilities and good play areas for children with activities for them to enjoy. Had a good quick stop for stores . When leaving i requested fuel . This request was denied and i was lied to , with them saying the fuel dock is only open 12hrs. a day . It was suggested i stayed overnight . This i consider to be a dangerous and underhand scam . Fortunately the wind got up and i was able to sail back to an anchorage . Despicable behaviour and i shall be making a report to the relevant coastguard and RNLI . Rich mens lackeys having a laugh at my expense .
