As you enter the Owl you feel at ease, you get a smile and a warm welcome from all the staff the chap who showed us to the table was chatting to us and took our drinks order. The girls who served were informative and courteous again with a smile and the feeling they really liked being part of the team. It was also nice to have a chat with the locals. We have been many times before and will definitely be back. I normally have the fish and chips but the Steak and Malbec pie was also very good. Thanks to all who looked after us. Top job. Very welcoming, food and value for money. Had evening meals and breakfasts, both were very good. Only minor downside was a private event with very loud music meant the whole pub had to listen to their choices. You expect some background music in a pub of course, and I hope whatever they were celebrating they had a time, but maybe turn the music down a tad next time 🙂 It was a very nice experience being back again. I absolutely love the place, how it look inside, the atmosphere, staff and ofcourse the delicious food that was served. Me and my family are looking forward to visit again. There was a couple of dishes which were sold out, which was a shame as they were the ones I was hoping to order. However the food we did order was absolutely beautiful. The staff were lovely and friendly and very attentive. Really enjoyed our meal and we will be back. Lovely place so relaxed. The staff were amazing and helpful nothing too much trouble. The food was exactly as described on menu and very nice. Would definitely eat here again. Reasonably priced aswell. Worst meal I’ve ever had there, mixed grill un edible, onion rings disgusting, obviously all frozen, sent it all back, still tried to charge for it but I refused. Beware if you order a glass of dry white wine they will serve you a large glass of the most expensive £10.75 per glass. First member of staff terrible, girl who cleared table and dealt with complaint lovely. Such a shame it used to be so good And didn’t get the discount as advertised Just returned home from a lovely lovely stay at the Owl Hotel in Hambleton. Booked at last minute and selected the hotel randomly, but was an excellent find and will definitely be back. Everything was spot on from the greeting by Simon on entering to the goodbye and thank you. Room was extremely clean and a perfect size (double). Had a great night sleep. Food was first class - only thing was parts were very hot and other cooler but not enough to complain. The whole team were professional, helpful and friendly. Great stay would recommend. We received a very warm welcome and the food was lovely. We both had the lamb rump with pie and it was delicious.very well presented and great that it was accompanied by a selection of veg, carrots, kale, mange tout and peas. The desserts were also to die for, caramel tart and the chocolate brownie/caramel dome. We will definitely be returning.
