Ο Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός Τρίπολης ανήκε στο σκέλος της σιδηροδρομικής γραμμής Μύλοι Ναυπλίου – Τρίπολη και τέθηκε σε λειτουργία το Φεβρουάριο του 1892 από τους Σιδηρόδρομούς Πειραιώς Αθηνών Πελοποννήσου, ενώ η σύνδεση με την Καλαμάτα πραγματοποιήθηκε με μεγάλη καθυστέρηση το 1899. Πρόκειται για ένα τυπικό παραδοσιακό Σιδηροδρομικό Σταθμό, που αποτελείται από 4 κτήρια: Διώροφο σταθμό επιβατών, ισόγειο μηχανοστάσιο, ισόγεια αποθήκη και ισόγειο κτίριο τηλεπικοινωνιών. Το επιβλητικό διώροφο πετρόχτιστο κτήριο, έγινε το στολίδι του δικτύου. Με τα χαρακτηριστικά αρχιτεκτονικά στοιχεία της εποχής — κεραμοσκεπή, πολυγωνική πέτρα, υδατόπυργους και μηχανοστάσια — ο σταθμός αποτελούσε σημείο αναφοράς για τους κατοίκους και τους επισκέπτες της περιοχής. Εκεί λειτουργούσαν οι αίθουσες αναμονής, το εκδοτήριο, τα κλειδουχεία και το χαρακτηριστικό ρολόι στη σοφίτα. Στο χώρο αυτό γυρίστηκε η κινηματογραφική διασκευή του διηγήματος του Αντώνη Σαμαράκη «Σε έναν συνοριακό σταθμό», λόγω του απολύτως διατηρημένου χαρακτήρα του. Τα δρομολόγια της γραμμής διακόπησαν τμηματικά και το τμήμα Τρίπολη–Κόρινθος ανεστάλη οριστικά το 2010. Ο Σιδηροδρομικός Σταθμός παραμένει ανενεργός και εγκαταλελειμμένος, αλλά χάρη στις προσπάθειες της τοπικής κοινωνίας βρίσκεται ακόμη σε καλή κατάσταση.
