This stop was really enjoyable. Cris is an interesting town with areas to visit. The fortifications are under restoration and the work that had been done to this point is brilliant. Most all of the is open to visitors. Behind the is a garden with many interesting trees including a Ginkgo biloba tree. The tower is accessible and the reinforcement that has been done there is extremely impressive. The staff are friendly and welcoming. They will explain the and take the to answer questions. They do require tickets purchased at the gate 10 lei It is a lovely castle. Plenty of to get to know here. The entrance fee is 15 lei and you also get a guide to tell you more about the place and current renovations. In weekends usually there is a local person who also knows a lot of and welcomes visitors. We had the luck to meet him and had a valuable lesson here. Our group loved the visit. There is a garden, a small coffee shop with a few seats, toilet as well. You can also buy some souvenirs. Via Transilvanica goes through the village, another good reason to This it is under renovation and probably still be for few more years but they've managed to bring it from a complete ruin to something with great potential. It is an jewelry and not too many people know about it and this should change because every single income will help this to become something amazing! The in Criș, Romania, is a prime example of an early tower-house castle. Its robust medieval architecture and extraordinary portico, a symbol of Transylvanian Renaissance, are truly impressive. The well-kept gardens add to the charm, and visiting in spring offers the special treat of seeing the blossomed "tulipa" tree. This is a must-visit for its historical significance and natural beauty. Very and friendly currators. Slowly and steady, they are reviving this gorgeous place. It was a area. The lady who sells the tickets and souvenirs was super and sweet. Very welcoming, it was a pleasure to because of her. She gave quick info about the castle. There's a lot of info inside the and in English too. Most of the estate is in renovation but you can explore most of the rooms. There is a peaceful park behind the and a toilet. There are benches for picnic if you want to eat and rest. All in all for 20 RON it was a great stop. You can still see the faded beauty of this castle. Thankfully, it is slowly being restored. Worth a now and in a couple of years from now. Also, any donation would really help the NGO to finish restorations and revitalize the area. What an discovery in the heart of Transylvania. It's true, there are many castles and fortified churches in the area, so all you need is time. But if you don't have much time, come here first! Criș Bethlen is a charmer because of its intricate, modern and the shadow of what was once an incredible English garden. Do make a donation and contribute to its restoration, for it is now in good hands! The is under renovation, still very beautiful. The surroundings are also beautiful. Recomanded to visit. A project that well & trully deserves top marks. Off the beaten track (read that Sighisoara - Medias road), keeps it charm after all these years. Part of a restoration project that I hope is seen through to completion, this is probably one of the most underrated castles I`ve seen. Had an improptu guided tour offered by one of the locals - who`s name I`ve forgotten, sorry :( , massively knowledgeable & kind enough to walk me through the places & secrets). This will certainly be a usual stop for me whenever visiting the area. Place is properly managed & the site manager is doing a brilliant job, though I`m sure this is neither an easy nor short term project. Best of luck Must see place, very different vibe after visiting all the fortified churches in the area. Take a bit of to rest in the garden behind. Cu drag, Răzvan și Maria + Many of the negative comments are no longer valid, the place has improved a lot over the years + natural surroundings, record-old trees, and an environment that is about to be wonderfully renovated + Rich and a building – The place still has a lot of room for improvement, but there are clear signs of progress – Weak guided tour I reccomend this to everyone!!! It is amazing. Man who works there is really talkative and nice. You can also buy some hand made cups and things. You can almost enter every room in the castle. They have a loot of plants and also Ginkgo biloba. Wonderful with a great host. The place is in constant renovation, it was brought back to a quite good state after being in decay for a long and you can see that they plan to do something with it. The host is happy to explain the of the castle. The entrance is cheap and you are free to explore in all open areas. Wow, what an experience! We stumbled upon it, and it ended up being the best part of the day! It's a really cool, genuine Hungarian castle, and even though they're still working on it, it feels like you've stepped back in time. If you go on a weekend, you might even see knights fighting and some old-school dancing that you can join in on. There's also this awesome guide who speaks a bunch of languages. He's an archaeologist, and he's great at showing you around and telling you all sorts of interesting stories and facts about the castle. You should totally check it out! inspiring space hidden from the crowds. Restoration is ongoing. You can touch the and really feel the old times. An day out at the which takes one back in . There was a lovely story about the of the and the place , told by the administrator . Quiet and peaceful gardens to walk in and unwind after charging with the past . Really palace in the middle of nowhere. A 10km road off the main road will take you here. It's worth the drive for sure. The guy who is selling tickets can tell you more about the place he is a archeologist working there, he is very and talkative. O locatie excelenta, liniste si un sentiment de bunastare. Oameni minunati care povestesc cu multa pasiune despre locatie. Very beautiful. It was worth the visit. P.S. the site said is not open but it is. Is best to contact the place before going.
