It's possible to drive through the door and with lots of luck find parking inside old town, but better park on the parking before the gate and do little walking. The Great Door leads you into the fantastic hilltop of Old Buzet. It is just like entering a world that has not changed for millennia. Sitting on top a a steep with views to die for you would think you back in history. Very helpful Tourist Information office some bars and cafes and a couple of restaurants catering for the inner man. Small , intimate and not to be missed. One bit of advice I hope will be helpful. From new Buzet you have three alternatives to getting to the top of the very steep hill. Park in the large car park in Buzet and walk up a long stepped pathway to the Stari Grad (Old Town) Drive through the new to the bridge over the main road and follow the smaller road up the to two more smaller car parks which leaves only a short walk up the steps to the top. We went this way only to find that we could have driven all the way up into the where there were a few small pay car parks. Could be full in top season. However you get up that it's WORTH IT!! Very nice view from the nearby coffee.
